The following obituary was in the Red Wing Daily Republican Eagle newspaper, July 8, 1941 (Tuesday), page 8, column 6.
Word has been received of the death of Dr. George A. Perkins, brother of Mrs. B.G. Featherstone and T.L. Perkins of Red Wing, on Monday morning at his summer home at Stone Lake, Wis. He was 70 years of age. Dr. Perkins grew to manhood in this community after graduating from the University of Minnesota, and later located in Dickinson, N.D. where he was a practicing physician and surgeon for almost 40 years. Surviving are his widow and one daughter, Mrs. G.E. McCune, and one grandson, Robert McCune, of Fairmont. Funeral services and internment will be held at Fairmont on Thursday, July 10.

Following from the book, "A History of Goodhue County Minnesota", by C.A. Rasmussen, published in 1935, page 330:
T.L. PERKINS, For many years a prominent farmer in Featherstone. He was born in that township and it was his home until recently when he moved to Red Wing. He married Lucy Featherstone in 1908 and to this union have been born three children: Vernon (who married Vivian Bang), Mary and Grace. He has been a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church and in politics is a Republican. He has served a number of terms on the school board of Featherstone. His parents were Timothy and Rhoda Perkins, pioneer settlers of the township who arrived there from Maine in Mr. Perkins was associated with his father in the management of the family homestead and on the latter's death came into full charge.

The marriage of Miss Thursa Etta Perkins and Briton G. Featherstone took place at 8 o'clock Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Perkins in Featherstone. The bride was attended by Miss May Featherstone and the groom by T.L. Perkins. The wedding march was played by Mrs. Chas. Perkins and the ceremony performed by Rev. Mr. Carlton. Following the ceremony a reception was held, about eighty guests being entertained.

The presents were many and beautiful. The parlors were very beautifully decorated with autumn leaves, while the dining room was decorated with pink carnations and smilax. The wedding march from Lohengrin was played by Mrs. Chas. Perkins, and little Mildred Perkins carried the wedding ring in the heart of a rose. Jonathan Raymond Perkins was born on 28 April 1831 at Franklin Co., Maine.3 He married Hannah Emily Judkins, daughter of Captain Joel Judkins and Nancy Carr, on 22 February 1852 at Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine.4 Jonathan Raymond Perkins married Alfrieta Twombly on 11 July 1881 at Stevens Co., Minnesota.3 Jonathan Raymond Perkins died on 5 November 1907 at Mahnomen Co., Minnesota; while visiting his daughter Flora Noel.3 He died on 6 November 1907 at Morris, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.5 He was buried on 8 November 1907.5

M.T. Perkins received a telegram this morning stating that John R. Perkins, 80 years old, died at his home at Morris, Minn., yesterday. He was one of Goodhue county's pioneer residents. About twenty-five years ago he resided on a farm in Featherstone and some years after moved to Pierce county, Wisconsin. Later he moved to Morris, Minn., where he lived a retired life with his family. He is survived by several children with whom he made his home, also one sister, Mrs. Merrit Tripp, of this city, and two brothers, T.E. of Featherstone and C.E. Perkins of Kirkwood, Ill. The funeral will be held Friday at Morris.

He was born in 1832 at Farmington, Winthrop Co., Maine.1 He was born on 30 July 1832 at Strong, Franklin Co., Maine.2 He was the son of Timothy Foster Perkins and Thirza Cottle Ellsworth. Charles Ellsworth Perkins married Mary Ann Felicia Wornom, daughter of Charles Hubbard Wornom and Jane Elizabeth Gilmour, on 26 February 1857 at Warren Co., Illinois.2 Charles Ellsworth Perkins died on 22 January 1908 at Warren Co., Illinois, at age 75.1,2 He was buried at Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood, Warren Co., Illinois; Plot: Section K.2
     Charles Ellsworth Perkins was born in Strong, Franklin County, Maine, the second of five children to Timothy Foster and Thirza Cottle nee Ellsworth Perkins. His family relocated to Goodhue County, Minnesota.

On 26 Feb 1857 in Warren County, Illinois Charles married Mary Ann Felicia Wornom, and they moved to Goodhue County for a few years where Charles farmed. His father was an apple breeder and grower, and Charles' brothers continued that endeavor; they developed several winter apples including Red Wing, Goodhue, Bayfield, and Jumbo; a nephew developed Perkins and Rhoda varieties. It was there that Charles' and Mary's oldest child, a boy named "Merchant" was born in 1859; Merchant died 1 Sep 1862 and shortly thereafter Charles and Mary moved back to her home territory in Warren County, Illinois. There, they had five more children: Charles Grant (who went by "Grant"), Jennie Thirza, Hartson, Glenn Ellsworth, and James Wornom.

Charles purchased the west half of section 28 in Tompkins Township, Warren County, which was south of Kirkwood. He remained on the farm until his death.

Charles died in 1908 and his wife was laid to rest next to him four years later.2

     Sarah V. Perkins was also known as Abigail Sarah.2 Her married name was Tripp. As of 1878, Sarah V. Perkins also went by the name of Abbie.1 Obit for brother T.E. in 1924, says sister is Mrs. Merritt Tripp, and she living in Bradley, South Dakota. She lived in 1924 at Bradley, Clark Co., South Dakota.

Mary Felicia Wornom was born the oldest of 14 children to Warren County settlers Rev. Charles Hubbard Wornom and Jane Elizabeth Gilmour. She met and married, on 27 Feb 1857, Charles Ellsworth Perkins in Warren County, Illinois. They settled in Goodhue County, Minnesota, where Charles' father was an apple breeder and grower. Their first child, Merchant, was born there in 1859 but died at the age of 3 and is buried at the Hope Cemetery in Red Wing near his paternal grandparents. In the mid-1860's Mary and Charles came back to Warren County, Illinois, where Charles was a farmer. They owned the west half of section 28 in Tompkins Township, south of Kirkwood.

Their five other children were born in Warren County:
1. Charles Grant: 4 Apr 1865-29 Jan 1902. He married Lucy Cordelia Littlefield and had one child, Felicia Maria (1895-1973). Grant moved to Washington, his wife's home state, and mined gold. He died suddently while in Dawson City, The Yukon.
2. Jennie Thirza, born in 1866.
3. Hartson, born in 1869 and died 13 Jul 1932 in California. He was married to Iva Maude Unckles.
4. Glenn Ellsworth: 12 Sep 1880-3 Oct 1839 near Berkley, California. He married Kathryn Ives Unckles, sister to Hartson's wife, and they had two children: Charles Ellsworth and Lawrence Unckles. Glenn worked in the laundry industry.
5. James Wornom, born 6 Mar 1882. He married a third Unckles sister, Marjorie Josephine. They moved to California and farmed near or with Hartson, growing oranges. James and Marjorie had two children: Mary (b. 4 Jun 1917) and James Hartwon (19 Feb 1921-27 Dec 2000).

After her husband died, Mary lived with their unmarried daughter Thirza in Kirkwood. She died in 1912.1

She was born in 1856 at Bangor, Penobscot Co., Maine.2 She was the daughter of Jonathan Raymond Perkins and Hannah Emily Judkins. Flora Ellen Perkins was born on 16 September 1856 at Maine.1 She married Eli Homer Noel, son of Jacob Noel and Mary (?), circa 1875.2 Flora Ellen Perkins died in 1931 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana.2 She died on 10 February 1931 at Montana.1,3

     Sidney T. Featherstone was born on 12 January 1851 at Sarnia, Lambton Co., Ontario, Canada.1 He was the son of John Featherstone and Mary (?)1 Sidney T. Featherstone married Mary A. Featherstone, daughter of Thomas Featherstone and Caroline Tayolr (?), on 27 December 1876.1 Sidney T. Featherstone died on 5 December 1929 at Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, at age 78.
     Sidney T. Featherstone, was born Jan. 12, 1851, at Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Came to Goodhue county together with his parents John and Mary Featherstone, from Canada in the spring of 1858 and settled in Featherstone township where his father pre-empted a piece of land. Married Mary A. Featherstone, daughter of Thomas Featherstone Dec 27, 1876. Nine children: Curtis H., Briton, William, May, Lucy K. (Mrs. T.L. Perkins), John H., Ethel T. (Mrs. L.W. Rowland), Leslie R., and Doris M. (Mrs. O.S. Glover). Mr. Featherstone was a community leader, serving the local Methodist church as choir leader and as Sunday school teacher and superintendent. He served as township clerk for 17 years. Early he became interested in Red Wing business enterprises and served on the directorates of the Sewer Pipe Co., and the Union Stoneware Co. In the year 1917 he retired from active farming and moved to Red Wing where he lived until his death Dec. 6, 1929.1

She was born on 2 February 1856 at Sarnia, Lambton Co., Ontario, Canada.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Featherstone and Caroline Tayolr (?)1 Mary A. Featherstone married Sidney T. Featherstone, son of John Featherstone and Mary (?), on 27 December 1876.2 Mary A. Featherstone died on 3 December 1936 at 1005 4th St., Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, at age 80.1 She was buried on 5 December 1936 at Featherstone Cemetery, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.1
     Her married name was Featherstone. The cause of death was Congestion of the Lungs.1

     The 1920 Census in Goodhue Co. had no husband listed. Marriage Record stated Charles was from Pike Co., IL. Charles was 25 years old when his son Richard was born in 1904.
