Kenneth W. Harn Jr., a retired funeral director's assistant and longtime South Baltimore resident, died of complications from a stroke Dec. 14 at Mercy Medical Center. He was 67.
Mr. Harn, who was known as "Kenny" or "Wesley," was born and raised in South Baltimore and attended city public schools.
Mr. Harn retired this month from McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, where he had been a funeral director's assistant and chauffeur for 48 years.

"Kenny was very devoted to his position and took pride in every aspect of funeral service, and was very willing to share his knowledge and experience with young people who chose this work," said Francis Karczmarek, a McCully-Polyniak funeral director.
He recalled that Mr. Harn was a stickler for "proper procedure and dignity" regarding funeral services.

Mr. Harn had been married for the past 24 years to the former Anna Hecner, who had owned and operated Ann's Flowers on Fort Avenue, where her husband also worked delivering flowers.
Since 1985, the couple had lived in New Park, Pa.

"Kenny's hobbies were sitting and relaxing with a Coors Light and traveling," Mrs. Harn said.

Services were held Monday at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Eastern Avenue.
Also surviving are a son, Kenneth W. Harn III of Timonium; a daughter, Konnie Pavlik of New Windsor; a brother, Gary Harn of Baltimore; a sister, Eunice Daugherty of Ferndale; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.⁴

     Kristine Rose Harn is the daughter of William Oscar Harn and Donna Ann McCarthy. Kristine Rose Harn married John Morelan Brandenburg, son of Gerald Jerome Brandenburg and Mavis Ordell Halverson, on 16 November 1992 at Grand Marais, Cook Co., Minnesota. Larry was born in Puyallup, WA, on November 2nd 1943 to Ralph Harn and Selma Soraasli Harn.

Larry grew up and attended school in Plentywood, MT. After graduating, Larry joined the United States Navy. During his time in the Navy, he served as a corpsman aiding wounded or ill soldiers.

After discharging from the Navy, Larry wed Joan Strom and was blessed with two children, Pat & Lisa.

Larry went on to further his education, he attended Miles Community College School of Nursing, where he was one of the first male students to graduate with his RN degree. After graduating with his degree, Larry was employed with the VA Medical Center as a surgical nurse and case manager for fellow veterans and current soldiers until he retired, allowing Larry another opportunity to serve the country he loved.

Anyone who knew Larry knew he couldn’t sit still. Blessed with brains and a love of people, Larry began working as a bookkeeper for Parkers Super Services upon his retirement from the VA. Larry never knew a stranger and anyone who was fortunate enough to know him was welcomed with open arms, a firm handshake and a cold drink. Larry’s greatest pride was his ever-growing family. Larry relished time spent with his grandkids hunting, fishing, and taking drives. Larry loved time spent talking with friends and family almost as much as they loved visiting with Larry, listening to him pass on stories and always managing to pass on a little sliver of wisdom and advice.

One of his greatest joys was being a great-grandfather to Gabriella (his “Gabby girl”), Dax, and Freya Ewalt, Jade, Hayden, and Macy Ballensky, and Larry was eagerly awaiting the upcoming arrival of “baby Davis”.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Ralph and mother Selma, his brother Howard (Lee) Harn, his beloved sister Lorraine (Zeke) Zeitner, and former wife Joan Harn. He is survived by his son Patrick (Jennifer) Harn, Lisa (John) Kuntz, and grandchildren, Renn (Tasha) Ewalt, Matt Perkins, Richelle (Cam) Davis, Amber (Damian) Ballensky, Alishia (Lucas) Zemlicka, and AJ Harn, along with his 7 beloved great grandchildren.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery.

Received telephone call from Wayne Azevedo on 28Apr2014, regarding the Harn family on his wife's side.

He said Lesley Wayne Harn's wife, was Mayme Barbara Czako. Her first name was Mayme, not Maylne. Mayme's married name was Wilkes.

Mayme had four children by four different men.

John Edward Wilkes Harn's biological father was John Edward Fabian.

Cassandra Lynn Harn's biological father was a Spielman.

Leslie Michelle Harn was a daughter of Lesley Wayne Harn. Her step-father had last name of Cunningham.³
