     Lola Blanche Speed was born on 7 July 1904 at Washington.^2,3 She was the daughter of Roe Ellis Speed and Eunice Edith Proffitt. Lola Blanche Speed married Dewey Florence Tracey, son of John Michael Tracey and Bridgett Cecilia McCarthy, in 1923 at Chelan Co., Washington. Lola Blanche Speed died on 17 January 1992 at Okanogan, Okanogan Co., Washington, at age 87.^2,3 She was buried at Okanogan City Cemetery, Okanogan, Okanogan Co., Washington.³ Her Social Security Number was 539-10-2838 issued in WA.

     Roe Ellis Speed was born on 22 March 1871 at Swan, Marion Co., Iowa.¹ He married Eunice Edith Proffitt circa 1893. Roe Ellis Speed died on 13 July 1943 at Waterville, Douglas Co., Washington, at age 72.¹ He was buried at Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Douglas Co., Washington.¹

     Betty Jane Spilman also went by the name of Jane. She was born on 9 July 1949 at St. Paul, Ramsey Co., Minnesota.¹ She was the daughter of Donald Walter Spilman and Doris Alice Harn. Betty Jane Spilman was baptized circa 1950 at Mantorville Congregational Church, Mantorville, Dodge Co., Minnesota. She married Gary Duane Thompson, son of Jim Thompson and Marion Aarsvold, on 2 August 1969 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Byron, Olmsted Co., Minnesota.¹ Betty Jane Spilman died on 16 December 2021 at Cottagewood Senior Communities, Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota, at age 72.¹ She graduated in 1967 at Kasson-Mantorville High School, Kasson, Dodge Co., Minnesota.¹ SOURCE: Jane Thompson 7/1989. Betty Jane Thompson

Betty Jane Thompson, 72, of Kasson, MN passed away Thursday, December 16th at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, MN. She was born July 9, 1949, in St. Paul, MN to Donald and Doris Spilman. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Mantorville, MN.

Growing up, Betty shared responsibilities with her 7 siblings working in their parents’ store. She graduated in 1967 from Kasson-Mantorville High School in Kasson, MN.

Betty married the love of her life, Gary Thompson, of Byron, MN on August 2, 1969. While Gary served in the military, they spent time in Wichita, KS as well as Victorville, CA before being discharged and moving back to the Kasson-Mantorville area.

Shortly after her retirement from Mayo Clinic in 2009, Gary and Betty moved to Breezy Point, MN where they spent 10 years before returning to the Kasson area. Betty enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling, cooking & baking, playing cards, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Gary Thompson; her children Chad Thompson (Michelle Junge), Jeremy (Mickel) Thompson, and Jodi Skurdahl (Travis Allen); her grandchildren Alexis, Payton, Chloe, Ryker, and Brody; and siblings Jeannie Bartel, Donald Spilman, Delores Brown, Donna Peterson, and Doris Tilbury. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Doris Spilman and brothers Daniel and Davey Spilman.

The Thompson family would like to extend their gratitude to Cottagewood Senior Community for their gracious care of Betty during her stay. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting contributions to them with a portion to be donated to Lewy Body Dementia research.

Daniel G. Spilman, 46, died Saturday, October 3, 1998 at his home in Kasson. He was born July 23, 1952 in Dodge Center, Mn., grew up in Mantorville, graduated from K-M High School in 1970, married Jean Robb and they were later divorced. He married Kimberly S. Kauffmann in Colorado in 1991 and they lived in Mantorville until moving to Kasson in 1992. Dan was a mechanic and equipment operator for Swenke Construction Co. of Kasson for many years.

Survivors include: Mother Doris Spilman of Dodge Center; daughters Jaime Spilman, Byron, Mn., Kelly Spilman, Kasson and sons Shaun and Nick Spilman, Kasson; brother Donald Spilman, Scottsdale, AZ and sisters Jeannie (Dan) Bartel, Winter Springs, FL., Donna Kaye Schak, Wyoming, Mn., Delores (Stanley) Brown, Elmhurst, IL., Doris Tilbury, Nashville, TN. and Betty Jane (Gary) Thompson, Kasson. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
A private family service was held at Dibble Funeral Home in Kasson Tuesday, October 6. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville. Memorials are preferred to the family.

     Davey Harn Spilman was born on 30 June 1955 at Dodge Center, Dodge Co., Minnesota.^1,2 He was the son of Donald Walter Spilman and Doris Alice Harn. Davey Harn Spilman died on 7 June 1972 at Rochester Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota, at age 16.^3,1,2 He was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville, Dodge Co., Minnesota.^1,2 He was never married. Davey Spilman, 16, Of Mantorville Dies
Davey H. Spilman, 16, of Mantorville, died last Wednesday night at Rochester Methodist Hospital after a three-year illness with a liver ailment.
He was born June 30, 1955, in Dodge Center and lived all his life in Mantorville. He was a student at Kasson-Mantorville High School. His father operates the barber shop at Mantorville.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Spilman five sisters, Mrs. Newton (Jean) Kennedy of Charlotte, N. C; Mrs. Andy (Donna) Florella of St. Paul, Mrs. Richard (Doris) Tilbury of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Gary (Betty) Thompson of Wichita, Kan., and Delores Spilman of Hinsdale, III; two brothers, Donald K. of St. Paul, and Daniel of Mantorville and maternal grandmother. Mrs. Delta Kalien of Faribault.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Congregational Church in Mantorville with the Revs. Ambrose Collins and Del Andrus officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery at Mantorville.

Delores Lynn Spilman was baptized circa 1964 at Mankato, Blue Earth Co., Minnesota.¹ She married Stanley Arthur Brown on 21 September 1980 at Hinsdale, DuPage Co., Illinois. Delores Lynn Spilman died on 6 June 2023 at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation, Crystal Lake, McHenry Co., Illinois, at age 76.² She was cremated.² Delores Lynn Spilman was a works in office of Hinsdale-IL Hospital. Delores Lynn Spilman was a Seventh Day Adventist. She lived in 1993 at 262 W. Butterfield Road, Elmhurst, DuPage Co., Illinois. Delores went to Mankato College in Minnesota for nursing in 1964. She began working for Hinsdale Hospital in 1965. She is a vegetarian. The cause of death was Dementia. She lived in June 1972 at Hinsdale, DuPage Co., Illinois.³ She lived in October 1998 at Elmhurst, DuPage Co., Illinois.⁴ She lived in August 2002 at 295 Marion, Elmhurst, DuPage Co., Illinois.⁵ She lived in July 2003 at 591 N. Delores Lynn Brown, 77, Woodstock, IL

Delores Lynn Brown 77 of Woodstock, Ill. passed away from Dementia and some other ailments on June 6th, 2023, in hospice at Crystal Pines Rehabilitation in Crystal Lake, IL. Delores Brown was born in St Paul and raised in Mantorville along with her seven siblings.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Arthur Brown and her parents Doris and Donald Spilman as well as her siblings Jean Marie Spilman, Donald Kenneth Spilman, Betty Jane Spilman, Daniel George Spilman and Davey Harn Spilman.

Delores was survived by her sisters Donna Kaye Spilman and Doris Ann Spilman and her two children Natalie Elaine Brown and Dale Cameron Brown and her legacy being her four grandchildren Dale and Megan’s children Landon and Rylee Brown and Natalie’s children Joshua and Iztali Pena-Brown.

Delores attended South Central College- North Mankato before finding a home in the Chicagoland area where they were a member of the Hinsdale Seventh-Day Adventist church. She met her husband Stanley in the church and supported him in his goals as a pastor and they joined hands in marriage September 21st, 1980. She worked at the Hinsdale Hospital for 47 years, she was committed to the Adventist health system and was a familiar face around the hospital in many departments throughout her service there. She raised her children in the community of Elmhurst, Ill. where she enjoyed being a part of the community.

Delores was a pleasant and loving soul who was very involved in the Seventh Day Adventist church. She enjoyed music and the arts in general but specifically had a lot of creative talent in painting and had significant talent in playing piano and the organ, she had the ability to influence the people around her by just being herself. Her demeanor was sweet, cheery, and quite contagious, she was a giving person that really endeavored to support and listen to others, she often took long walks and loved to meet new people and share the love of God with others. Her spirit was a blessing to her immediate family and she made a positive difference in whomever she interacted with. Delores was a unique and loving selfless person that will be missed.

In 2020 Delores and her daughter Natalie moved to Woodstock, close by her son Dale in Harvard, where she finally passed; a Memorial Service will be held August 5th at 2108 Edgewood Dr., Woodstock, Ill. 60098 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be open to all relatives and friends that would like to gather to remember and join the family in some food and prayers as it will be informal assembly at a home there will children and snacks. Delores was cremated and will be joining her husband in the journey after this life. Her closest relatives would like to invite you to share any memories or condolences.
