     William Emerson Bush was born on 28 December 1890 at Ravenna, Buffalo Co., Nebraska.¹ He married Viola Belle Lilly, daughter of Samuel Wesley Lilly and Mary Jane Hague, on 2 February 1913 at Alda, Hall Co., Nebraska. William Emerson Bush died on 12 June 1960 at Alda, Hall Co., Nebraska, at age 69. He was buried at Alda Cemetery, Alda, Hall Co., Nebraska.¹

     Rachel Bushey married Wallace Zimmerman.¹ Rachel Bushey died before 2009.¹

     Laura Jo Busian married Joel Edward Schmidt, son of David Leo Schmidt and Cynthia Ann Maloney, on 20 July 2019 at Stevens Co., Minnesota.

     Beryl Louis Butler was born on 3 April 1960.¹ He married Cynthia Kaye Federer, daughter of Jesse Franklin Federer and Catherine Perkins. Beryl Louis Butler died on 3 July 2023 at age 63.¹ He was buried at Sardis Cemetery, Pine Grove, Dallas Co., Arkansas.¹

     David Lonzo Butler was born on 2 April 1860 at Indiana. He married Catherine May Warfel, daughter of James Alexander Warfel and Martle Helen Hopkins, on 12 September 1882 at Clay Co., Indiana. David Lonzo Butler died on 28 February 1934 at Carroll Twsp., Reynolds Co., Missouri, at age 73.

     George Butler was born circa 1844 at Maine.¹ He was the son of Isaac Perkins and Betsey (?)¹ George Butler was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine.¹ He died on 17 April 1864 at Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine.¹

     Male Butler married Sarah Bangs, daughter of Edmund T. Bangs and female (?).¹

     Sharon Lynn Butler married William Amado Trujillo, son of Louis Richard Trujillo and Rebecca Marie Sanchez, on 20 May 1967 at Casper, Natrona Co., Wyoming.

     Lester Wayland Button was born on 27 November 1890 at Lamont, Buchanan Co., Iowa.^1,2,3 He married Blanche Harriett Tripp, daughter of Merritt Tripp and Sarah V. Perkins, on 8 October 1917 at Goodhue Co., Minnesota. Lester Wayland Button died on 14 June 1964 at Lebanon Community Hospital, Lebanon, Linn Co., Oregon, at age 73.^4,2,1,3

LEBANON - Lester W. Button, 73, 510 E St., died at Lebanon Community hospital Sunday afternoon, following a short illness. Mr. Button came to Lebanon in 1952 from Revillo, S.D. He was born in Lamont, Iowa, Nov. 27, 1890. Before his retirement in 1952, he owned and operated a hardware store in Revillo for many years. He was a member of the Lebanon First Baptist church.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Seth Crowell, Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. David Dykstra, Orange City, Iowa, and Miss Rena Button, Alhambra, Calif., and two grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, 1. p.m., at the Jost Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Wiens officiating.

Lester W, Button, 73, 510 E. St., died Sunday afternoon at the Lebanon Community Hospital. He
came to Lebanon in 1952 from Revillo, S. D., where he owned and operated a hardware store before retirement.
Mr. Button was born at Lamont, Iowa, Nov. 27, 1890. He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the U. S. Army in France. His wife Blanche preceded him In death six months ago. They were members of the Lebanon First Baptist church; Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Seth Crowell, Lebanon; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. David Dykstra, Orange City, Iowa and Miss Reva Button, Alhambra, Calif.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jost Funeral home -with the Rev. Joe Wiens officiating. Burial will be In the 1007 Cemetery.

LEBANON - Services are pending in the Jost Funeral Home for Lester Button, 74, of 510 E St., Lebanon, who died Sunday in a hospital here.
Button worked as a janitor in Lebanon for many years before his retirement. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Seth Crowell, Lebanon.

LEBANON -- Rhoda W. (Button) Crowell 76, of Milwaukie, and formerly of Lebanon died Thursday. She was born in Bradley, S.D. She lived in Lebanon for 51 years and had taught an adult sewing class for Linn Benton Community College. She moved to Milwaukie last year
Mrs. Crowell was a widow. She belonged to the Family Bible Fellowship in Lebanon.
Surviving are daughters Rebecca Johnson of Boring and Bonnie Morgan of Oregon City ; and five grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Mrs. Crowell's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Peake Memorial Chapel in Milwaukie. Burial will follow at the Lebanon I00F cemetery.

     George Allen Cahill married Laurie Ann Treichel, daughter of Ernest M. Treichel and Sandra Grace Luchau, on 23 June 1974 at Missoula Co., Montana. George Allen Cahill and Laurie Ann Treichel were divorced on 29 July 1980 at Multnomah Co., Oregon.

     Lottie Darlene Cahill married Gerald Lee Noel, son of Clifford Elmer Noel and Inga Brooten, on 8 February 1958 at Pennington Co., Minnesota.

     Mary Cahoon was born in 1764.¹ She married Batchelor Wing.

     George Edward Caldwell was born on 21 September 1879 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.¹ He married Bessie Blonde Harn, daughter of Dr. Allen Duval Harn and Josephine Camp, circa 1903.¹ George Edward Caldwell died on 2 September 1934 at Houston, Harris Co., Texas, at age 54.¹

     George Edward Caldwell Jr. was born on 26 July 1904 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.¹ He was the son of George Edward Caldwell and Bessie Blonde Harn. George Edward Caldwell Jr. died on 30 June 1984 at Houston, Harris Co., Texas, at age 79.¹ He was buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, Harris Co., Texas.¹

     John Caldwell was born in July 1847 at Scotland. He married Williamina Grove, daughter of Martin Luther Grove and Margaritte Jane Harn, circa 1900 at Nome, Alaska.^2,3 John Caldwell died circa January 1918 at Seattle, King Co., Washington.^3,2

     Kevin Troy Caldwell married Bonnie Lorraine Percy, daughter of Clifford Glenona Percy and Peggy Ann (?).

     Sarah Caldwell was born in 1750. She married Hans Adam Werfel, son of Hans Melchior Werfel and Katherine Shaffer, in 1768. Sarah Caldwell died in 1797 at Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. She was buried at River Corner Mennonite Cemetery, Conestoga, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.

     Nancy Calhoun was born on 11 May 1797.¹ She married Joseph Hearne, son of Lowder Hearne and Lavinia Cannon. Nancy Calhoun died on 27 December 1834 at age 37.¹

     Mary Calkins was born on 21 June 1818 at Jamestown, Chautauqua Co., New York.¹ She married George W. Bronson in 1835.

     Boyd Call married Dianne Estella Wilson, daughter of Charles Abiel Wilson Jr. and Lela Jeanne Fox.

     Esther C. Call was born on 28 February 1844 at Brownsburg, Hendricks Co., Indiana.¹ She married John M. Harn, son of Lawson Harn and Mary Ann Overly, on 14 August 1865.¹ Esther C. Call died on 13 November 1899 at Clermont, Marion Co., Indiana, at age 55.

     Janice Callahan was born on 26 May 1934 at Lewiston, Androscoggin Co., Maine.^1,2 She graduated in 1956 at Lesley College, Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, degree in elementary education.² She married James Russell Costello Sr., son of Russell Hill Costello and Jane H. Cassidy, on 12 July 1958 at Maine.^3,2 Janice Callahan died on 1 October 2021 at Scarborough, Cumberland Co., Maine, at age 87.^1,2

SCARBOROUGH – Janice Callahan Costello, 87, of Scarborough, formerly of Pine Point and Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at Piper Shores Assisted Living surrounded by her loving family. Janice was born on May 26, 1934 in Lewiston, daughter of James Forrest and Mary O’Brien Callahan.

Janice attended Lewiston High School and graduated from Lesley College in 1956 with a degree in elementary education. She went on to teach 2nd and 4th grades at Farwell Elementary School in Lewiston.

On July 12, 1958, Janice married James R. Costello. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage and raised five children. Janice also had eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Although Janice never worked at the Sun Journal in an official capacity, she played a vital, supporting role in the functioning and health of the family business.

During her lifetime, Janice was an active community volunteer. She was a member of the Patronesses of St. Mary’s Hospital and the Woman’s Hospital Association at Central Maine Medical Center, as well as the Lewiston-Auburn College Club. Her favorite volunteer activities centered around her children. She enjoyed spending time at Pettingill Elementary School as a library and classroom volunteer. Janice was also a parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston and St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough.

Janice was graceful and strong, peppered with a dry sense of humor. She was the consummate hostess who loved to entertain and host large family gatherings. Her cooking was so well-liked that her children often stopped by the day after a party to eat leftovers. Janice’s lasagna and baked stuffed lobsters were frequently requested by friends and family alike.

Janice’s gifts also included her flair for decorating and fashion. She enjoyed skiing, tennis, sailing, golf, and playing card games with her family and friends. Janice was devoted to her family and supported them in all their activities. She cherished being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be greatly missed.

Janice is survived by her five children, Catherine Snook and her husband Edward, of Auburn, James Jr. and his wife Debra, of North Palm Beach, Fla., Stephen and his wife Mary Ellen, of Lewiston, David and his wife Carie, of Falmouth, and Maureen Wedge and her husband David, of Westbrook; eight grandchildren, Edward “Ted” Snook Jr. and his wife Kate, Meghan Snook Gaetani and her husband Ben, and Anna Snook, Kevin, Stephanie, and Courtney Costello, and Caitlin and David Costello; two great-grandchildren, Callahan Snook and Nora Gaetani; one sister, Barbara Masselli; and many nieces and nephews.

Janice was predeceased by her loving husband, Jim; her parents; and her two brothers, Thomas and William Callahan.

The Costello family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care and compassion Janice received from the dedicated staff at Piper Shores Assisted Living and Hospice of Southern Maine. Janice’s family is very grateful for their kindness, concern, and support. The family would also like to thank Dr. William Lee for his years of wonderful medical care, and more recently Dr. John Reynolds.
