     Virginia Elizabeth Jones was born on 10 November 1929 at Nessel Twsp., Chisago Co., Minnesota.^1,2 She was the daughter of Richard Ellsworth Jones and Florence Mildred Peterson.¹ Virginia Elizabeth Jones was baptized on 29 August 1934 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Rush Point, Isanti Co., Minnesota. The cause of death was automobile accident at Denver, Denver Co., Colorado.¹ She died on 21 September 1950 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota, at age 20.^1,2 She was buried on 23 September 1950 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota.^1,2

     Wesley Lowell Jones was born on 30 January 1919 at Klawoch, Prince of Wales Outer Ketchikan, Alaska.¹

Member of the Tlingit Indian Tribe.¹ He began military service on 10 January 1942 at Fort Ray, Alaska.¹ He ended military service on 13 December 1945.¹ He married Mabel Carolyn Dupuis, daughter of Victor A. Dupuis and Rose Ashley, on 3 December 1947 at Lake Co., Montana. Wesley Lowell Jones married Marjorie Ann Noel, daughter of William Herbert Noel and Laura Cecilia Glover, on 3 April 1970 at Lake Co., Montana.¹ Wesley Lowell Jones died on 20 January 2008 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana, at age 88.¹

POLSON - Wesley Lowell Jones passed away on Sunday, January 20, near 10 a.m. in the morning, at the family home, surrounded by his daughters, his wife and several of his granddaughters. He was just ten days shy of his 89 birthday.

Wes was born on January 30, 1919 in Klawoch, Alaska near the Pacific Ocean.

His early days were spent in Ketchikan, Alaska and he was a proud member of the Tlingit Indian Tribe. He had numerous brothers and sisters.

Wesley was a decorated Army Veteran of World War II. He entered the Army on January 10, 1942 at Ft. Ray, Alaska and separated from the service on December 13, 1945. Upon discharge, Wes received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Ribbon Medal. He was a Technical Sergeant in the Harbor Craft Detachment.

Wesley spent some of his adult years in Alaska and Montana. When Wes was fifty-one, he met the love of his life, and present wife Marjorie A. Noel Jones. They were married in April 1970 and remained married for 37 years. The joy of Wes's life was their daughter, Jody.

Through his live, Wes enjoyed deep-sea fishing in Alaska, laborer work, and highway construction work.

Wes was content to mow the lawn on his riding lawnmower at Turtle Lake. One of Wes' favorite pastimes was giving his grandchildren rides on his lawnmower. He enjoyed pow-wows, driving in the mountains, and spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a first wife, Mabel Dupuis Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, his daughters Jody Jones and her children Kelsie Jones, Ridge, Malia and Lucas Vanderburg, Jeanne (George) Christopher and her children Melissa Jones, Joseph (Korrie) Christopher and James Christopher, Julie (Brian) Johnson and their children Cassandra (David) Riley and Boone (Samantha) Johnson and Teresa (Tom) Wall-McDonald and children Andrea, Katie, Erin, Christopher and Noah McDonald. Wes also had eight great-grandchildren Alex and Avery Jones, Lauren, Ethan, Bruin and Mason Christopher, Benjamin McDonald and Sky Dustybull-McDonald.

In recent years Wes's health declined. Yet, he retained his good spirit, handsome smile and quiet sense of humor. Since Wes was such a private man, the family will not have a public viewing. The family asks that all remember his twinkling eyes and wide smile.

     Herman Perry Joos was born on 22 June 1910 at Illinois.¹ He married Fern Lillian Noel, daughter of Archie Cleveland Noel and Lillian Elizabeth Larson, in 1969.      David Charles Jopson is the son of John Jopson and Barbara Catherine Purdy.¹ David Charles Jopson married Ruth Fayad on 9 October 1971.¹

     Dyla Courtenay Jopson is the daughter of David Charles Jopson and Ruth Fayad.¹

     James Andrew Jopson is the son of David Charles Jopson and Ruth Fayad.¹

     John Jopson was born in 1910 at Brighton-on-Tyne, England.² He married Barbara Catherine Purdy, daughter of Wendell Holmes Purdy and Edith Lindsay Morgan, on 15 May 1944 at United Church, Hanna, Alberta, Canada.¹ John Jopson died on 8 September 1998 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

     John Gavin Jopson is the son of John Jopson and Barbara Catherine Purdy.¹ John Gavin Jopson married Annette Katherine Schaefer on 18 October 1980.¹

     Linda Jopson is the daughter of John Jopson and Barbara Catherine Purdy.¹

     Michael Jopson is the son of David Charles Jopson and Ruth Fayad.¹

     Mark Jordan married Susan Perkins, daughter of Douglass E. Perkins MD and Nancy M. Mason.

     Mary Mable Jordan was born on 20 July 1874 at Valparaiso, Porter Co., Indiana. She married William Leander Fellows, son of Albert A. Fellows and Margaret M. Haines, in 1894. Mary Mable Jordan died on 13 August 1965 at Kearney, Buffalo Co., Nebraska, at age 91. She was buried at Kearney Cemetery, Kearney, Buffalo Co., Nebraska.¹

     Darbee Jore-Lytle and Jacob Warren Harrod were unmarried partners in 2015.

     David Joseph was born on 28 March 1922 at Myers, Tompkins Co., New York.^1,2 He married Arlene Ann Hillick, daughter of Francis Xavier Hillick and Sidney Virginia Brewer, on 22 November 1948. David Joseph died on 21 February 2010 at Ithaca, Tompkins Co., New York, at age 87.² He was buried at Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Lansing, Tompkins Co., New York.²

     Deborah J. Joseph is the daughter of David Joseph and Arlene Ann Hillick. Deborah J. Joseph married Timothy Peter Schmidle, son of Dr. Richard Patrick Schmidle and Jeanne Padginton, on 19 May 2001.¹

     Duella Joseph was born in 1854. She married Melvin S. Segur on 12 June 1877 at Michigan. Duella Joseph died in 1929.

     Bernard Dolph Josephson married Dorothy Marie Driscoll.

     Eric Josephson is the son of John Bernard Josephson and Judith Marie Jones.

     John Bernard Josephson was born on 11 September 1943 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota. He was the son of Bernard Dolph Josephson and Dorothy Marie Driscoll. John Bernard Josephson married Judith Marie Jones, daughter of Howard Hartson Jones and Alice Marie Smithburg, on 10 October 1964 at Hennepin Co., Minnesota; Certificate Number:      7630452.      Deanna Rae Joy is the daughter of Elwood Russell Joy and Leota Blanche Noel. Deanna Rae Joy married Paul Edward Wise on 15 May 1964 at Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai Co., Idaho.

     Dori Joy is the daughter of Elwood Russell Joy and Leota Blanche Noel. Dori Joy married Michael Munro.

     Elwood Russell Joy was also known as Shorty. He was born on 14 June 1912 at Huntley, Yellowstone Co., Montana.¹ He married Leota Blanche Noel, daughter of William Herbert Noel and Laura Cecilia Glover, on 12 June 1936 at Lake Co., Montana. Elwood Russell Joy died on 23 October 1999 at Ronan, Lake Co., Montana, at age 87.¹ He was buried at 7a-6-51, Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, Lake Co., Montana.¹

     Melva Lee Joy was born on 16 April 1941 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Elwood Russell Joy and Leota Blanche Noel. Melva Lee Joy married William Eugene Combs, son of Cecil E. Combs and Vesta D. Dale, on 30 April 1959 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana.² Melva Lee Joy and William Eugene Combs were divorced on 5 November 1964 at Polson, Lake Co., Montana. Melva Lee Joy married Stephen Wayne Seifert on 31 August 1968 at Lake Co., Montana.² Melva Lee Joy married Reginald Imbert in September 1976 at Montana.² Melva Lee Joy died on 24 October 2011 at Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, Spokane Co., Washington, at age 70.^1,2

Melva Lee Imbert, 70, of Pablo, MT, passed away on Monday,October 24, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. Melva was born at home in Polson, MT on April 16, 1941. She was the second of four daughters of the late Elwood 'Shorty' and Leota Joy. While Melva was young she worked was a waitress in such places as the Hut Caf??sh and the Southshore Inn. She enjoyed bowling and in later years loved to play Pinochle and dance. Melva was married to William 'Bill' Combs in 1959 and together had two children, Barbara and Edward. She later married her second husband, Steve Seifert in 1968. Then while working as a cook for the Polson Senior Citizens' Center, she met her final husband, Reginald 'Bob' Imbert. Melva and Bob were married in 1976. Bob later passed away in 1982. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved to sing, bake, and play games with them. She will truly be missed. Besides her parents, Melva is also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. Survivors include her two children: Barbara Ann (Bob) Kintz and Edward Combs: three sisters, Norma (Jim) Funke, Deanna (Paul) Wise, Doris (Mike) Munro: three grandchildren, Sarena (Bryan) Erickson, Trista Sapp, and Chase Kintz: and four great-grandchildren, Talia Foster, Cainen, Taften, and Espen Ericksin: nine nieces and nephews and nineteen great nieces and nephews. Norma K. Funke, 78, a lifelong member of the Polson community and the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, passed away from natural causes while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, in Missoula. She was born in Polson on April 1, 1939, to Elwood “Shorty” and Leota “Dottie” Noel Joy. Norma was the oldest of four girls and had a very large, extended family.

As a child, Norma’s family lived in various homes around Polson, but her fondest memories were of the years she lived in the Mountain View area, in the shadow of the beautiful Mission Mountains. She graduated from Polson High School in 1957 and married her high school sweetheart and first husband, Dean Redekop, in 1958. Together, she and Dean had five children, Gwen, Russell, Geri, Gay and Genean. Dean was tragically lost in a car accident in 1971. In 1975 Norma and Jim Funke were married and together they lovingly raised their family. Family and home were the center of her world.

Norma was a very bashful and sweet child with dimples and the brightest smile ever. She eventually grew out of her shyness and blossomed into one of the most fun loving, good humored people ever. Yes, she was a hoot! We have been blessed with many cherished family stories of Norma’s colorful humor and amusing antics.

Norma had an incredibly strong work ethic and passed this along to her family. As a lifelong community member she worked in various places. In her early teens she waited tables at the Pirate Cafe and later, the Hut Cafe. She worked for many years at Eddie’s Drug store. She and Jim also managed the family business, Hillcrest Nursery. In the 1990s Norma went back to school and earned an associate’s degree in medical records and eventually worked for CSKT.

She raised gardens, canned and was a wonderful cook and baker. She was also an accomplished seamstress, quilter, crafter and painter. Family gatherings and holidays were her favorite times. She was a friend to all she knew and will be greatly missed.

Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Dean; son, Russell; infant granddaughter, Amber Luke; father, Elwood Joy; mother, Leota Joy; sister, Melva Imbert; and an infant brother; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Norma is survived by her husband, Jim; children, Gwen (Greg) Clairmont, Geri (Lloyd) Turnage, Gay (Mike) Speckert, and Genean Clairmont (Don). She leaves behind her sisters, Deanna (Paul) Wise and Dori (Mike) Munro. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Chris, Tom, Cory, Amanda, Annie, Abby, Erin, James, Joe, Daniel, Dakota and Hunter and their spouses; plus 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved pets Max and Kitty.

There will be a private family burial at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Polson Lakeview Cemetery.

     Hannah Emily Judkins was born on 11 June 1830 at Berlin, Franklin Co., Maine.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Captain Joel Judkins and Nancy Carr.² Hannah Emily Judkins was born circa 1831 at Maine.⁴ Hannah Emily Judkins was a Housekeeper. Her Ancestral File Number is CMPX-6Q submitted by Jeanne Fox Wilson. She married male Cushman.² Hannah Emily Judkins married Jonathan Raymond Perkins, son of Timothy Foster Perkins and Thirza Cottle Ellsworth, on 22 February 1852 at Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine.⁵ Hannah Emily Judkins died on 5 April 1881 at Morris, Stevens Co., Minnesota, at age 50.^1,2,3 She was buried at Original addition Block 3 lot 20 section 7, Summit Cemetery, Morris, Stevens Co., Minnesota.³
