     George David Struck also went by the name of Davey.² He was born on 18 May 1824 at New York Co., New York.^2,3,1 He was the son of George Wilhelm Struck and Maria Alety. George David Struck married Maria Josefa Agapita Mondragon on 8 February 1866 at Nuestra Senora De Guadalupe Catholic Church, Taos, Taos Co., New Mexico.⁴ In 1897 George David Struck was a Postmaster, at Ranchos de Taos, Taos Co., New Mexico.²

THE TAOS CORRESPONDENCE
A VETERAN OF THE MEXICAN WAR

In Mr. David Struck, the postmaster at Ranchos de Taos, we have the only naval pensioner of the Mexican war in the territory. At the age of 73 he is as active and hearty as the average man of 50. Davey, as he is familiarly called, was born in New York City May 14, 1824. In 1838 he entered the navy as apprentice and served until he attained his majority. During his apprenticeship he visited Cuba, Vera Cruz, Mexico, and was for a long time on the coast of Africa.
In 1846 he was discharged at Charleston, S.C., but in 1847 rejoined the navy and shipped in the sloop of war Boston for service in the Mexican war. The Boston was wrecked on Elithura island and he returned on a coaster to Norfolk, Va., where he remained on the receiving ship Pennsylvania until transferred to the sloop of war Jamestown, which carried 250 soldiers and marines and an armament of 24 guns. As a land force the soldiers and marines took part in the engagements of Tuxan and Tabasco. In 1848, on his return to Norfolk, Va., he was discharged.
In the winter of 1849 he went “round the Horn” on the sidewheel steamboat Senator, the only vessel of her class which ever made the trip, and was on her when she made her first trip from San Francisco to Sacramento. All old Californians remember the Senator. Out of a job he made a “round trip,” from San Francisco to Honolulu and Hawaii, for a cargo of sugar and molasses. Returning to San Francisco he got the gold fever and went to the Yuba river placer mines, where in eight months he amassed $5,000. Returning to San Francisco he took passage for New York, but going ashore at San Diego got things a little mixed and the steamer left without him.
After a prolonged vacation he obtained employment as government teamster from San Diego to Yuma across the Colorado desert; he held this job down a year and then for 18 months was pony express rider over the same route enduring hardships and making escapee, surpassing belief, from the Yuma Indians, which tribe was at that time numerous and dangerous. These Indians became so dangerous that in 1853 a special draft was made at San Diego and a war of extermination begun.
In 1854 he engaged as government teamster with the boundary line commission surveying the line from San Diego, Cal., to El Paso, Tex. From El Paso he came to Albuquerque and served as government teamster until 1858 when he went to Salt Lake under General Johnson during the Mormon excitement. In 1861 he came to Ranchos de Taos where he for 11 years clerked for D. Webster who conducted a general merchandise store. When A. Gusdorf succeeded to the business and built a large flour mill Davey entered his service and remained until the mill burned in 1896, when he became postmaster.

Social Media DNA results almost 200 years later suggest she was an unfaithful wife or perhaps not even the mother of the child that has been identified as her biological child per the record for approximately 200 years. Then again...the name Maria Alety on this profile is created from the marriage record provided by the subject "son". #LH8F-B5H

Beyond the creation of the subject from a marriage record is the fact that based on SOCIAL MEDIA DNA...the son who is in the marriage record from New Mexico in 1860 is stated to be the biological son of another man (OTHER THAN THE FATHER MENTIONED IN THE MARRIAGE RECORD). A McDivitt #G963-XP9, not a STRUCK. Does this mean the STRUCK LINE IS NOW SUBJECT TO BEING A McDIVITT #G963-XP9 based on a type of Social Media user submitted information. Will need a collaborative effort here as this is a major upset.

It is of extreme concern that "Family Trees" are loaded into a data base from contributors. This data is then pooled with samples of DNA provided by many who do not know their family history and want to attempt to learn names of who the are "connected" to. If the TREES ARE NOT CORRECT and THE WORK CONDUCTED AND PROVIDED BY THE "PUBLIC MEMBER" SHARED "COMPILED GENEALOGIES" which are simply base building blocks for further research, the results will be BASIC at best.

A woman with no "identity" to date except a marriage record where information was provided in a different language, hand written, then translated, transcribed and listed with the spouse (father) on a marriage record that was provided by an informant(s), could result in AN ACCURATE ANALYSIS of TRUE PATERNITY, INFIDELITY, OR EXACT RELATIONSHIPS OF THE "CREATED PERSONS" that have no vitals or existence should generate some FAMILY TREE alarms. Now 200 years later Social Media DNA says different and does not provide anything further except to disrupt the family unit and then abandon the investigation. (a grandson of George David has had a Y DNA test done. Instead of the expected German line that test indicates George David's father was Irish and therefore not George Struck. Autosomal DNA results tie this grandson to a family by the name of McDivitt . So far research has uncovered three McDivitt men in lower Manhattan in 1823 when George David would have been conceived. All three of those McDivitt men and George Struck report their occupation as "painter". Since all four men lived within blocks of each other at the same time and had their occupation in common it is reasonable to conclude they all knew each other.)
He married Maria Josefa Agapita Mondragon, on February 8, 1866 • at the Guadalupe-Catholic church, in Taos, New Mexico.

A veteran of the Mexican-American War, led an eventful and colorful life. In his seventies he was interviewed for the Santa Fe Daily New Mexican for the Saturday, August 14, 1897 edition, under the headline, "The Taos Correspondence: A Veteran of the Mexican War." In his interview he states He was born in New York City, on May 14, 1824.

David joined the United States Navy as an apprentice on June 16, 1841. On this tour he sailed to Cuba, Mexico, and the west coast of Africa. He was discharged in 1846, but soon after rejoined the Navy and was assigned to the USS Boston, an 18 gun sloop-of-war. She shipwrecked on Eleuthera Island, Bahamas, on 15 November 1846. He survived, as did all of his shipmates. While assigned to another sloop-of-war, the USS Jamestown, which carried 250 soldiers and 24 guns, he took part in the engagements of Tuxjan and Tabasco as part of the Mexican American War. In all, David served on at least six warships during his career with the United States Navy.

In the winter of 1849 he sailed "around the Horn"-- Cape Horn, at the southernmost tip of South America, one of the most hazardous shipping routes in the world-- on the sidewheel steamboat Senator. After that arduous eight month voyage, the Senator put to port in San Francisco. David remained as crewman on that ship when she made her first trip from San Francisco to Sacramento. It's likely that this trip was instrumental in giving David "gold fever." Leaving his life on the sea, he went to the Yuba placer mines and in eight months amassed $5,000 (worth about $175,000 in 2021). Upon returning to San Francisco, he took passage to New York. However, after going ashore in San Diego, he missed the steamer and remained in San Diego for at least two years.

From there he was employed by the government, working in the desert from San Diego to Yuma across the Colorado Desert. He was also a Pony Express rider for about 18 months between San Diego and Yuma. This would have been about 1852.In 1854 he engaged as government teamster with the boundary line commission, surveying the line from San Diego to El Paso. From El Paso David came to Albuquerque and served as government teamster until 1858, when he went to Salt Lake City, Utah, serving as a soldier under Albert Sidney Johnston during the "Mormon excitement," also known as the Utah War.

In 1861 David came to Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico Territory, where he worked eleven years for D. Webster, who owned a general merchandise store. When A. Gusdorf took over the business in 1872 and built a large flour mill, David remained in his employ until the mill burned in 1896. On 24 October 1896 David was appointed US Postmaster of Ranchos de Taos.

After settling in Ranchos de Taos, David married Maria Josefa Mondragon. While David was married to Josefa, he had a relationship with Juana Maria (Martin) Dorrance ("Maria Martin"), which produced four children. However, David's relationship to this family is only documented as secondary information: he is only named on the marriage records of the children, he was not present.

Almost 15 years later, and while still married to Josefa, David fathered his first child with Guadalupe Chavez. About four years later, He had a second child with her.

After the death of his wife Josefa, David married Maria Encarnacion Trujillo, on 8 July 1903 in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico Territory.

ROCK SPRINGS — George Struck, 82, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 at his home. He was a long time resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.

He was born on December 25, 1931 in Casper, Wyoming, the son of the late William and Freda Struck.

Mr. Struck attended schools in Superior, Wyoming and St. Anthony’s in Casper, Wyoming and graduated from Natrona High School in 1950.

He married Georgia Fay Warfel Struck on April 21, 1956 in Casper, Wyoming.

Mr. Struck was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served from May 30, 1950 until April 15, 1954 when he was honorably discharged.

He was employed as a mechanic and a salesman at Morgantown Machine and retired in 2000.

Mr. Struck was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community.

His interests included camping, hunting, fishing and he loved the outdoors. Following his retirement, he took care of his disabled son David. He was a proud Wyoming Native and enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren out of doors

Survivors include his wife Georgia Fay Struck of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one son Dan Struck of Rock Springs, Wyoming; three daughters Susan Nichols and husband Steve, Bonnie Legerski and husband Bob all of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Terri Redman and husband Steve of Layton, Utah; three grandsons Matt Legerski and wife Meagan, Phillip Trujillo-Nichols and Dan Nichols and wife Sarah; one grand-daughter Kristin Legerski Doerr and husband Jason; three great-grandchildren Ava Doerr, Addison Doerr and Sadie Nichols.

Cremation will take place and A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Sunday at the Vase Funeral Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel, 154 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming on Sunday one hour prior to the rosary and on Monday at the church, one hour prior to services.⁴

Upon his death, his family received a Presidential Memorial Certificate for George William Struck, from President Obama.

Viola Virginia Bullington, age 89, of Casper, passed away March 9, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice. Viola was born
January 29, 1929 in Superior, Wyoming to William and Freda (Trujillo) Struck. Viola moved to Casper, Wyoming and
graduated from Natrona County High School in 1948.
Vi married Leslie A. Bullington on April 18, 1952. To this union was born five children.
Viola was an Administrative Specialist for many years for a variety of companies beginning at Tripeny Motors and
ending with the State of Wyoming Corrections and Parole, where she retired in 2000 after 17 years.
Vi was a devoted member of St. Patricks Church of Casper. She loved sports and attending her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren's sporting events. Vi was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Most will remember her fashion sensematching
from head to toe with every color shoes you could imagine.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Leslie, her parents, her brother, George Struck and her sister, Betty Howell;
five grandsons, Christopher Bullington, Beau Bullington, Charles Turk, Chad Turk, and David Turk, and a son-in-law,
Terry Halbert.

She is survived by her children, Les (Tammy) Bullington, of Greeley, Colorado; George (Benita) Bullington, of Casper,
Wyoming; Carol Halbert of Marble Falls, Texas; Cheryl Ayers (Huey Caster) and Thomas Bullington, of Clayton, New
Mexico. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-granchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5:00pm until the recital of the Rosary
beginning at 7:00pm at Newcomer Casper Chapel. A Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 16, 2018 at St.

WILLIAM STRUCK
Funeral services for William Struck, 41, of Superior will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the South Side Catholic church. The Rev. John Marley will conduct the funeral mass, and burial will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock tonight at the Rogan mortuary chapel.
Struck died Wednesday at Wyoming General hospital. He had lived at Superior for four years, where he was in the employ of the Union Pacific Coal company. Struck was born Aug. 4, 1904, in Taos, N.M.
He is survived by his wife, Freda, and three children, Viola, Betty and George William Struck, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Mary Varos of Rock Springs, and one brother, Albert Struck of Portsmouth, Va. He was a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Trujillo of Casper.²

He was buried on 13 May 1946 at Rock Springs Cemetery, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming.⁴
