MARJORIE R. GELINAS
ITHACA - Marjorie R. Gelinas, 77, of 222 N. Albany St., went home to her Lord on April 13, 2006. A lifelong resident of Ithaca, NY, Mrs. Gelinas was born in Ithaca on October 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert Reyna and Martha Brewer, and her stepfather, Wilber McKinney. Marjorie was the widow of Robert H. Gelinas, who died on March 13th, 1986. Margie worked at the College Spa restaurant for over 30 years. Margie was a little woman with a large spirit that, as the core of the family, held everyone together, and will surely be missed. Survivors include her son, Robert P. Gelinas and Norene Jarrell of Ithaca, NY; her daughter, Reyna (Sandi) L. and John Hilker of Groton, NY; her daughter, Kimmie L. Vann of Ithaca, NY; her longtime companion, Charles Newby of Ithaca, NY; her sister, Marilyn Taylert of Ithaca, NY; her brother, John McKinney of Ithaca, NY; her grandchildren, Seth J. Fuller, Megan L. Fuller, Robert P. (Jamie) Gelinas, Kevin J. Gelinas, Kelly J. Gelinas, Dawn M. (Roger) King, Jennifer A. Gelinas, John W. Hilker Jr., Brandon J. Hilker, Kristen L. (Dave) Norte, Jacqualyn H. (Leslie) Breeds, Donald E. Hilker; and 19 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law and special caregiver, Judi Gelinas and Ed Stout; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marian Reyna, Virginia Cotterill; and brother, Albert (Jack) Reyna; and great-grandson, Robert J. Thomas Gelinas. The family asks that friends join a memorial service that will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Floral Ave., Ithaca, NY, on Tuesday, April 18th, at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home. .
