Legerski, 82, of 302 Fremont St., Rock Springs, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. A longtime Rock Springs resident and former resident of Superior, Legerski died following a sudden illness due to the effects of Parkinson's Disease.
He was born on June 11, 1923, in Kooi, the son of Michael F. and Anna Roman Legerski. Legerski attended schools in Superior and was a graduate of Superior High School with the class of 1941. He married Lola Pasquini in 1950. She preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1961. He later married Rosina M. Caserotto in Rock Springs on April 4, 1964.
He was a U.S. Army-Air Force veteran of World War II. Legerski was employed at FMC Corporation for 28 years and retired as an assistant purchasing agent on Oct. 1, 1985. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community. His interests included spending time at his cabin, fishing, hunting, going to Wendover and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Rosina C. Legerski of Rock Springs; two sons, Paul A. Legerski and wife Carol and Gene Legerski and wife Rebbeca, all of Rock Springs; two daughters, Cecelia A. Jernegan and husband J.L. of Prescott, Ariz., and Catherine A. Oehler and husband Russ of Tigard, Ore; one brother, John Legerski and wife Elizabeth of Rock Springs; two sisters, Josephine Ahlstrom of Sheridan and Annie Walker and husband Charles of Rock Springs; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Legerski of Rock Springs and Lorraine Legerski of Taylorsville, Utah; 14 grandchildren, Kris Beveridge, Russ Beveridge, Chad Rumsey, Todd and Jacquie Rumsey, Julie Legerski, Erin Legerski, Mark Legerski, Justin Oehler, Greyson Oehler, Dominic Oehler, Meganne Legerski, Zach Legerski, Koltin Legerski and Skyla Legerski; great-grandchildren, Jcie Mieola, Cason Rumsey and Cain Rumsey; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna; his first wife, Lola P. Legerski; two children, Mark Joseph and Julie J; three brothers, Frank, Mike and Joe; two nephews, Mike Legerski and Charles Walker; brother-in-law, Bert Ahlstrom; stepdaughter, Ivy Beveridge and son-in-law, Art Beveridge; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Cattrina Caserotto; and brother-in-law, Gino Caserotto.
Following cremation, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday, March 4, 2006 at the SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Ave., Rock Springs. A memorial rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at the church. Military graveside services and inurnment will be in the St. Josephs Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.2
He was buried on 3 March 2006 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming.2,3

Tom Sheridan will officiate. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2003, at the church. Interment will be in the Saint Joseph’s Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the Vase Chapel, 154 Elk St., Rock Springs, Friday afternoon until 4 p.m. and at the church from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday morning at the church until time of services.3

She was born on Oct. 19, 1919, to Anna (Roman) and Mike Legerski in Passaic, N.J. The family moved to Monarch a few years later to work in the mine. They later moved to Superior to work. Later her father retired in Rock Springs. She graduated from high school in Superior in 1938.
She married Bert Tavelli Ahlstrom on May 20, 1939, at Rock Springs Episcopal Church. Their daughter, Ann Marie, was born in Rock Springs. They then moved to Sheridan in 1940 to work in the mines. Sons Bert Jr. and Chris were born in Sheridan.
She worked at Superior Laundry, Jim Wolfe Accounting and Big Horn Avenue Grocery store. She enjoyed reading, mountains, taking care of her grandchildren, scrapbooking and photo albums. She also enjoyed sending newspaper articles to people, bowling, following politics and watching her favorite television shows.
She was a member of the Junior Woman's Club until it dissolved. She was involved in Civic Theater Guild plays by taking care of the cloakroom. She participated in many charity drives. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 186 for 60 years where she served as the secretary and treasurer. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church where she helped with Sunday school, nursery, dinners, bazaars and the lunchroom. She was also a member of St. Margarets Guild, working for city, state and national elections for many years.
She is survived by three children, Ann Kilpatrick and husband Richard of Sheridan, Bert Jr. and wife Sue of Cheyenne and Chris and wife Sandy of Sheridan; eight grandchildren, Krista Kilpatrick of San Diego, Calif., Tom Kilpatrick and wife Joanne of Sheridan, Ken Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Kimberlee Eskierka and husband Duane of Las Vegas, Nev., Whitney Whitworth and husband Chad of Cheyenne, Ashley Ahlstrom of Denver, Colo. and Zach and Jake Ahlstrom of Sheridan; six great-grandchildren, Emily and Cody Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Christian Kilpatrick of Sheridan, Kaylee Kilpatrick of Lusk, Alex Eskierka of Las Vegas and Jackson Whitworth of Cheyenne; many nieces and nephews; brother, John Legerski and wife Liz of Rock Springs; and sister, Annie Walker and husband Chick of Rock Springs.

He married Anna Roman on 20 May 1916 at Passaic, Passaic Co., New Jersey.1,3 Michael Frank Legerski Sr. was a Coal Miner.2 He died on 19 January 1970 at Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming, at age 76.2,3,4 The cause of death was Acute coronary artery occlusion, due to Arteriosclerotic heart disease on 19 January 1970.2

ROCK SPRINGS-Michael Frank Legerski, 76, of 840 West Center Street, Rock Springs, died at his home Monday, following an illness of one year. He was born on Sept. 29, 1893, at Koniakau, Pau, Cres yn, Poland, and resided in Superior, Wyoming since 1929. He moved to Rock Springs in 1955. He was the son of the late George and Julianna Bestrvina Legerski, and was a retire coal miner.

Surviving are four sons: Michael, Jr., Anthony, John, and Joseph, all of Rock Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Bert (Josephine) Ahistrom of Sheridan, and Mrs. Charles (Anne) Walker of Rock Springs;one sister who resides in Poland, 24 grandchildren, four great grandchildren. He was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, the United Mine Workers of America, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 151.
Services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Thursday at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Albin Gnidovec officiating.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Vase Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
