A Funeral will be held 11:00 AM, June 16, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church (1208 W 14th Street) Marshfield, WI. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service on June 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM. A private burial will take place at a later date. Ada was born December 9, 1921, the daughter of John Heath Mills and Pearle Delora (Hamman) Mills in Rib Lake, WI. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1939. Ada was united in marriage to the love of her life Robert A. May at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. She was employed at various Marshfield businesses including: Prashak Machine Co. and Metal - Fab Inc. for 23 years, and the Central Wisconsin Fair Association for many years after she retired. Ada was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, Marshfield Professional Secretary's Association, Historical Society, Central Wisconsin Fair Association, and Marshfield Women's Club. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling and golfing. She especially enjoyed her family. Those that knew Ada best will miss her quiet wit and her love of family. Ada is lovingly survived by her: children: Allan, Keith (and Mary), and Greg. She is further survived by grandchildren Maggie May, Mollie May, Leah (May) McSorley, Heath May and six great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed. Mrs. Dorothy A. Purdy, 78, died Thursday morning, Oct 29, 1981, at the Liberal Good Samaritan Center, where she had been a resident since March 1981. Born Dec 29, 1902, at Ft. Scott, she married Ivan W. Purdy, Jan 20, 1920, at Coffeyville. He died in 1971. She moved to El Dorado from Coffeyville in 1925 and had been a resident since that time. She was employed by the American Petro Fina for 25 years retiring in 1969. She was a member of the First Christian Church, and the Desk & Derrick, both of El Dorado.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. L.R. (Helen) Cousland, Liberal; one sister, Mrs. L.A. (Madeline) Titsworth, Nowater, Okla; two grandchildren, Craig R. Cousland, Beloit and Mrs. Jerry (Janalee) Reece, Liberal; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado, by Rev. Bill Longman. Interment will be in the Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado. The family suggests memorials be sent to the First Christian Church in care of the church, El Dorado. Miller Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.2
