Baird in his "Chronicle of a Border Town, History of Rye, Westchester County, 1660-1870, 1871" on page 198 has the following.

"The PURDY family have a burying-ground on the western bank of Blind Brook Creek, opposite the public cemetery. This is probably one of the oldest places of interment in Rye. It contains many antique memorials of past generations ; but the imperfect records of their names have been worn away by time, and none prior to the present century are now legible."

In Bolton's "History of the County of Westchester, from Its First Settlement to the Present Time, Vol II, 1848" the following is recorded on page 91.

"The Purdy estate is situated upon the eastern shore of Rye neck bordering the Blind brook, (Mockquams). A short distance from the house is the burial place of the Purdy's.

She died on 8 February 1913 at Ithaca, Tompkins Co., New York, at age 80.¹ She was buried at 166, Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg, Tompkins Co., New York.²

     Kenneth Alonzo Purdy was born on 8 February 1910 at Sebeka, Wadena Co., Minnesota.¹ He was the son of William Hopkins Purdy and Anna Christiansen. Kenneth Alonzo Purdy married Marjorie Elenore Swedenburg, daughter of Francis Gustavus Swedenburg and Olive E. Eggleston, on 8 May 1949 at Marion Co., Oregon. Kenneth Alonzo Purdy lived in 1961 at Aumsville, Marion Co., Oregon. He lived in 1988 at Aumsville, Marion Co., Oregon. Kenneth in Turner-OR 1987, according to sister Geraldine's obituary. Lee Sellon Purdy married Nellie Mae Hagood, daughter of Ollie Hagood and Stella James, on 8 April 1919 at Coffeyville, Montgomery Co., Kansas. Lee Sellon Purdy lived in 1962 at Coffeyville, Montgomery Co., Kansas. His Social Security Number was 510-10-0176 issued in Kansas before 1951.
