     Frances Bird was born circa 1859 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Bird and Charlotte Lammadee. Frances Bird married Alvine E. Lomady on 21 January 1886.¹

     Francis Bird was born on 3 February 1781 at Pennsylvania. She married John Longley. Francis Bird died on 11 August 1847 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana, at age 66.

     Lynn Curtis Birthmark was born on 10 May 1966 at Poplar, Roosevelt Co., Montana. Member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. He married Dee Ann Dupuis, daughter of Gregory Allen Dupuis and Lorene Francis Bourden, on 18 June 1988 at St. Ignatius, Lake Co., Montana. The cause of death was Suicide, Asphyxiation by Hanging. Lynn Curtis Birthmark died on 13 July 1991 at Ronan, Lake Co., Montana, at age 25.

     Agnes Marie Bisek married Scott Joseph Kotek, son of Clarence Jacob Kotek and Rosalia Elizabeth Vrzal, on 14 August 1981 at Le Sueur Co., Minnesota.¹

     Margaretha Caroline Henriette Bittner was born on 30 April 1886 at Winona Co., Minnesota.¹ She married John William Kranz Sr. Margaretha Caroline Henriette Bittner died on 19 June 1980 at Winona, Winona Co., Minnesota, at age 94.¹ She was buried at Oakland Cemetery, Minnesota City, Winona Co., Minnesota.¹

     Mary Bjontegard was born in 1890 at Fisher, Polk Co., Minnesota.¹ She married Verner Tip Hartley on 6 June 1914 at Polk Co., Minnesota.      Evelyn Claira Black was born on 4 March 1934 at Aberdeen, Grays Harbor Co., Washington.^1,2 She married John Henry Detwiler Jr., son of John Henry Detwiler and Helen Alberta Houser, circa 1952. Evelyn Claira Black died on 18 September 2001 at Hoquiam, Grays Harbor Co., Washington, at age 67.^1,2 She was buried at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, King Co., Washington.²

     Joseph Bernard Black Jr. married Glenda Margaret Hunt, daughter of John Embry Hunt and Mabelle Cornelia Harn, on 18 August 1973 at Travis Co., Texas.

     Miriam Ellsworth Black was born on 16 June 1914 at Banning, Riverside Co., California.^1,2 She was the daughter of Curtis Wesley Black and Maude Comfort Blanchard. Miriam Ellsworth Black married Max Wilton Grubbs on 31 March 1934. Miriam Ellsworth Black died on 19 May 2012 at Anderson Co., South Carolina, at age 97.^1,2

MRS. MIRIAM B. GRUBBS
June 16, 1914 - May 19, 2012

Mrs. Miriam Black Grubbs, age 97, of Anderson, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. She was born in Banning, CA, the daughter of the late Curtiss Wesley Black and the late Maude Comfort Blanchard Black. In 1932 she was married to Max Wilton Grubbs, who became a respected professor and tennis coach at Anderson University. They were married for 45 years until his untimely death on May 12, 1977. In 1937 Miriam and Max moved from Banning, CA to Belton, SC.

Mrs. Grubbs was a member of Anderson First Baptist Church where she was an active member and sang in the church choir. She served as a past president of the Belton Music Club and the Belton Garden Club. Miriam was also active in the Anderson Garden Club and in the activities of Anderson University.

Survivors include two daughters, Victoria "Vicki" Grubbs Cox, and her husband, Walter T. Cox, III, of Punta Gorda, FL, and Caroline Grubbs Singleton and her husband C. Philip Singleton of Anderson. Also left to carry on her legacy are 5 grandchildren: Lisa Victoria Cox Craig (Andrew), Walter Thompson Cox, IV, Sarah Victoria Long (William), Margaret Leanne Schaaf (Christian) and James Pickens Lever (Mira); 11 great-grandchildren: Grace Craig, Mary Craig, Katherine Craig, Miriam Cox, Riley Cox, William A. Long, Kelly Long, Daniel L. Castles, III, Austin L. Castles, Jamie Lever, and Jordan Booth; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Black; a nephew, Tim Black and his wife Lynda Black; a niece, Linda Ingram and her husband Wayne Ingram.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mrs. Miriam Grubbs will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Jack Couch officiating. The family will gather with friends following the service at Forest Lawn.

     Wesley Blanchard Black was born on 23 June 1918 at San Bernardino Co., California. He was the son of Curtis Wesley Black and Maude Comfort Blanchard. Wesley Blanchard Black married Marjorie Elizabeth Connolly, daughter of Norman Clifton Connolly and Glayds Mildred Berry, in 1940 at Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona. Wesley Blanchard Black died on 7 June 1994 at Riverside Co., California, at age 75.¹ He was buried at San Gorgonio Memorial Park, Banning, Riverside Co., California.¹

     Mary Matilda Blackford also went by the name of Tillie. She was born on 24 October 1854 at Highhouse, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.¹ She married John Thomas Miller, son of John Patterson Miller and Mary Anne Harn, in 1877. Mary Matilda Blackford died on 8 May 1946 at Monongahela, Washington Co., Pennsylvania, at age 91.¹ She was buried at Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.¹

     Terry Blake married Ruth Ryan, daughter of Arthur D. Ryan and June Lorraine Harn.¹

     Russell Edward Blalack was born on 24 August 1921 at Miami Co., Ohio.¹ He married Eileen Cecelia Magruder, daughter of John B. Magruder and Elizabeth Plummer, on 26 December 1981 at Clark Co., Nevada. Russell Edward Blalack died on 28 April 2007 at Sun City, Maricopa Co., Arizona, at age 85.¹ He was buried at Wheelock Cemetery, West Milton, Miami Co., Ohio.¹
