Donald Dale Bowers Sr. died on 23 March 1994 at Largo, Pinellas Co., Florida, at age 81.¹ He was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹ He lived in 1967 at Florida.

     Edwin Sadler Bowers was born on 8 November 1908 at Port Marion, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.¹ He married Mary Frances Miller, daughter of Frank Blaine Miller Sr. and Lela Marea Kramer, in 1933. Edwin Sadler Bowers died on 3 February 1987 at Morgantown, Monongalia Co., West Virginia, at age 78.¹ He was buried at Evergreen Memorial Park, Port Marion, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.¹

     Kris Kincaide Bowers is the son of Donald Dale Bowers Jr. and Karen A. Van Devoorde. Kris Kincaide Bowers married Paula Jean Patterson on 16 November 1996 at St. Petersburg, Pinellas Co., Florida.

     Lynn Diane Bowers was born on 19 April 1939 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Donald Dale Bowers Sr. and Juanita Estelle Kincaide. Lynn Diane Bowers married Larry L. Linton on 23 June 1957 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana.^3,2 Lynn Diane Bowers died on 6 May 2024 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana, at age 85.^1,2 She was cremated.¹ She lived in April 2022 at Elkhart, Elkhart Co., Indiana.³

Lynn Diane Linton

Lynn Diane Linton, 84, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Center for Hospice Care-Esther House. At her bedside while she passed was her daughter and son-in-law, and very near, were her lifelong friends, Phyllis Dygert, Jan Reed, and Barb Smith. She was born on August 19, 1939, in Elkhart to Donald & Juanita (Kincaide) Bowers.

She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Linton, on June 23, 1957, in Elkhart. They remained inseparable until his passing in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Todd Bowers Linton; and a brother, Donald Bowers, Jr.

Surviving is her daughter, Lori (Mike) Weaver of Elkhart; grandsons, Arec Simeri of Indianapolis, IN, and Christopher (Lia) Simeri of Carmel, IN; granddaughter, Anna (Sean Leary) Simeri of Van Nuys, CA; great-grandson, Audie Simeri of Carmel, IN; a great-granddaughter, on the way; and a sister-in-law, Janet Linton of Elkhart. Also surviving are many family members and close friends.

Lynn was employed at many places throughout her life, including owning Larilee Woodwind and later retiring from Elkhart General Hospital in 2013.

She volunteered for God’s Kitchen of Guidance Ministry for 15 years, and the Elkhart Hugs Project. Lynn was also a member of River Oaks Community Church for over 27 years.

She was a gifted seamstress, knitter, cook, and also enjoyed gardening with her husband. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family. Lynn made her family a priority by always being there for them and never missing one of her children’s or grandchildren’s events. The memories and relationships she built with them truly showed through to the end when Lynn’s parting wish was to know the future name of her only great-granddaughter, that wish was honored.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, June 24, 2024, with gathering from 9:30 AM until the 11:00 AM service at River Oaks Community Church, 58020 C.R. 115, Goshen, IN. Pastor Drew Rickey will render the service. The family would like to thank the staff at the Esther House for the compassion and devoted care they showed for Lynn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Center for Hospice Care, 22579 Old U.S. 20, Elkhart, IN 46516 or to ROCC. Elkhart Cremation Services is honored to be entrusted with Lynn’s care.

     Bradley Bowles is the son of Brooks J. Bowles and Jo Ann Dauby.¹

     Brooks J. Bowles was born on 24 April 1948 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio.^1,2 He was the son of Jack Floyd Bowles and Ruth Evelyn Harn. Brooks J. Bowles married Jo Ann Dauby in 1969.² Brooks J. Bowles died on 7 July 2017 at Oregonia, Warren Co., Ohio, at age 69.^1,2 He was buried at Burial Details Unknown.¹ He graduated in 1968 at Colonel White High School, Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio.²

Age 69, of Oregonia, OH passed peacefully July 7, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Born April 24, 1948 in Dayton, OH, Brooks was the son of Jack F. and Ruth Evelyn (Harn) Bowles. Brooks graduated from Colonel White High School in 1968, attended Sinclair Community College, and worked for General Motors as a maintenance painter, and then a Journeyman painter. Brooks left the factory to enjoy being a self-employed owner/operator of two businesses for over 20 years: B & J Painting Services, interior and exterior residential house painting; and the Marigold Farm, raising and selling homegrown fruits and vegetables, free range eggs, and later adding greenhouses to sell vegetable and bedding plants. In 1989, Brooks went to work for the Otterbein Home Retirement Community as a residential painter, and then Paint Supervisor, and retired in 2008. Brooks was a very personable and hard-working man, who was extremely creative and loved working with his hands. He was humorous and he was a character. Brooks left an impression with everyone who met him. He loved farming and gardening, Ohio State football, good times with family and friends, and most of all, he loved music. Preceded in death by his parents, Brooks leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Jo Ann (Dauby) Bowles; son, Bradley Bowles of Middletown, OH; daughter Sheryl Bannister and her husband Richard of Dublin, OH; sister Chery Supinger and her husband John of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren, Brianna, Alyssa, Brooke, and Jared Bowles, and Jacqueline and Audrey Bannister; and many other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oregonia United Methodist Church, 1444 Race St., Oregonia, OH 45054 with a reception and celebration of life immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brooks' name to Kettering Cancer Center, 3700 Southern Blvd., Kettering, OH 45429 or to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. George Washington Bowles married Nettie Verena Lambert. George Washington Bowles died on 11 February 1954 at St. Louis, Missouri, at age 76.

     Jack Floyd Bowles was born on 23 February 1921 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.² He married Ruth Evelyn Harn, daughter of Russell Wesley Harn and Wilma Hazel Evans.¹ Jack Floyd Bowles died on 20 February 2000 at Lebanon, Warren Co., Ohio, at age 78.² He was buried at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Springboro, Warren Co., Ohio.²

Jack Floyd Bowles was a LT in the US Navy during World War II.²

     James Nashville Bowles was born on 29 August 1837 at Pulaski Co., Missouri.¹ He married Ruth J. Crownover. James Nashville Bowles married Elizabeth Jane Parks, daughter of Andrew Jackson Parks and Lucinda A. Rayfield, on 27 August 1874 at Centerville, Reynolds Co., Missouri. James Nashville Bowles died on 2 February 1930 at Centerville, Reynolds Co., Missouri, at age 92.¹ He was buried at Centerville Cemetery, Centerville, Reynolds Co., Missouri.¹

     Sheryl Bowles is the daughter of Brooks J. Bowles and Jo Ann Dauby.¹ Sheryl Bowles married Richard Bannister.¹

     Theodosia G. Bowles was born on 28 June 1882 at Missouri. She was the daughter of James Nashville Bowles and Elizabeth Jane Parks. Theodosia G. Bowles married James David Weible in 1896. Theodosia G. Bowles died on 10 February 1916 at Reynolds Co., Missouri, at age 33.

     Walter B. Bowles was born on 11 February 1876 at Centerville, Reynolds Co., Missouri. He was the son of James Nashville Bowles and Elizabeth Jane Parks. Walter B. Bowles married Geno Bowers. Walter B. Bowles died on 3 April 1925 at Centerville, Reynolds Co., Missouri, at age 49.

     Dannie Paul Bowling married Marlene Rae Hartley, daughter of Earl Francis Hartley and Mable Marie Schmeder, on 29 October 1960 at Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon. Dannie Paul Bowling and Marlene Rae Hartley were divorced on 11 December 1970 at Multnomah Co., Oregon.

     Melvin Michael Bowling married Jo Ann Key, daughter of James Roy Key Jr. and Frances Fern Merry, on 31 August 1958 at Macon, Macon Co., Missouri. Melvin Michael Bowling died circa 1962 at Missouri.
