     Mary Ruple was also known as Rupel. She was born on 26 September 1827 at Somerset Co., Pennsylvania.^1,2 Mary Ruple was a Keeping House. She was the daughter of Jacob Rupel and Catherine Griffith. Mary Ruple married Andrew Longley, son of John Longley and Francis Bird, on 12 October 1845 at Elkhart Co., Indiana. Mary Ruple died on 15 August 1914 at Clay Twsp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 86.^2,1

Mrs. Mary Rupel Longley, aged 87 years, died this morning at 10 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.M.Shimp in Clay township. Death followed a gradual breaking in health of several months' duration which was caused by advanced age. Mrs. Longley was born in Summerset county, Pennsylvania September 26, 1827, but had lived in this vicinity nearly all her life, coming here when about nine years old. She was a member of the Christian Advent Church. Mrs. Longley is survived by three children, Mrs. Shimp, at whose home she died, Mrs. Gabriel R. Summers and William H. Longley, both of South Bend. Funeral arrangements have not been made.

     Mary Elizabeth Ruple was born on 21 March 1921 at Marcellus, Cass Co., Michigan.¹ She was the daughter of John Calvin Ruple and Edna E. Nichols. Mary Elizabeth Ruple married Gale L. Wade on 8 September 1940 at Marcellus, Cass Co., Michigan.¹ Mary and Gale had five children. Mary Elizabeth Ruple died on 23 November 1989 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 68.² She was buried at Bly Cemetery, Marcellus, Cass Co., Michigan.²

     Mary Jane Ruple was born circa 1840 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Ruple and Sarah Jane Wilkins. Mary Jane Ruple married John Cook on 22 March 1860 at Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹ Mary and John had one child, John. Mary Jane Ruple died on 3 September 1920 at Cass Co., Michigan.² She was buried at Reames-Norton Cemetery, Cassopolis, Cass Co., Michigan.²

     Matilda Ruple was born on 28 October 1847 at Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Andrew Ruple and Sarah Jane Wilkins. Matilda Ruple married Samuel Barringer on 16 May 1867 at Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹
