Lucetta Marie Bassett

Lucetta Marie Bassett was born on 5 June 1883 at Clarkston, Cache Co., Utah.1 She married Soren C. Nebel on 31 August 1904 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.1 Lucetta Marie Bassett died on 29 June 1968 at Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming, at age 85. She was buried at Lovell Cemetery, Lovell, Big Horn Co., Wyoming.
Following memories of Lucetta Marie Soren:
"We had a dairy farm in Clarkston. While there my father was called to St. George, Utah to work. When he came home he took a contract to build a piece of railroad in Helena, Montana. In 1888 we moved to Star Valley, Wyoming. There were only 8 or 10 families there at the time . It was in Star Valley I met the man who was to be my husband, Soren C. Nebel. He was born 31 August 1879 in Goshen, Utah. There was a call for Mormon people to go to the Big Horn Valley in Wyoming. We left in wagons and arrived there 4 July 1900 just 5 weeks from the time we left.
Soren and I were married in Lovell 31 August 1904 which was his birthday. Our first baby was a little girl born 23 March 1906 and passed away 16 August 1906. We named her Florence Lois. Our first son arrived 18 October 1907. We named him Leland Soren. Eliza Ann came to us 9 Nov 1909. We named her after Soren's mother and my mother. Our next happy event came 5 October 1912. His name was Clyde William. These three were born at lona, about 12 miles from Lovell. In 1913 we went to Idaho and to Logan, Utah. We homesteaded 160 acres in 1914 along the Snake River in Idaho. Gerald Herbert was born there 27 July 1916. On 21 October 1919 another son arrived. We named him Horace Earl. After living on the dry farm for about 6 years we sold it and went back to Lovell in 1921. We lived at Kane and the kids went to school there. Our third daughter was born at Kane, Wyoming 25 September 1925. We named her Peggy Jean. This made Anna very happy as she had always wanted a sister. Anna had become quite a torn boy by now and loved to jump on a horse with her cousin Edna Bassett and round up cattle for her dad on the river bottom and in the mountains.
At this time April 9, 1961 I live in Lovell, Wyoming. My sister Lucinda lives next door to me. Anna, Leland and Earl live here. Gerald in Cody, Clyde in Judith Gap, Montana and Peggy and her husband Roy Conant live in Casper, Wyoming. Soren passed away 16 September 1948 in Lovell. I've missed him very much but have had my family to help. I always keep busy and this helps a lot. God has been good to me and my family. We all have a great deal to be thankful for. Little did I realize 60 years ago I would enjoy television,
missiles and the space projects the United States has today.2 "
