She was a retired director of policy and procedures at Link in Washington D.C., which provides flight simulators for the U.S. government. Mrs. Huffman was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Lake Havasu City.
She enjoyed playing piano, guitar and golf. She was first married to Melvin Grooms, who is deceased. On June 17, 1968, she married Loy H. Huffman, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Donna Nickelson of Florida; a son, Michael S. Grooms and wife Chrissie of Florida; two stepdaughters, Patricia Goodloe and husband Walter of Hanover and Cecilia Huffman of Virginia; two grandchildren, Shaleen Cousins and husband Matt and George Viverette; two great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred "Midgie" Harn of Waynesburg and Theda R. Welling of Rices Landing. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 22, in Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Harn was a 1940 graduate of Jefferson High School. She was a homemaker and licensed beautician who lived most of her life in Greene County.
She was a member of Mather Christian Church and Cornerstone Genealogical Society of Waynesburg.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Kreuger of Albion, Calif.; two sons, James M. Gallentine of Mather and Gary L. Gallentine of Rotunda West, Fla.; five grandchildren, Karen Sabo Foster, Greg Sabo, Daniel Chaney, Patty Gallentine Gardner and James Gallentine Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Theda Welling of Rices Landing.
Deceased are her first husband, Robert G. Gallentine; her second husband, Donald A. Harn, who died August 15, 2002; a son, Robert S. Gallentine; a grandson, Jason Gallentine; and a sister, Connie Huffman.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where private services will be held, with the Rev. Ken Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Hospice Care Inc. of Washington Hospital.

NEW MARKET, Md. - Mrs. Jean Tonkin Brinkley, 83, well-known longtime resident of New Market, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Walkersville, Md.
She was the wife of the late Dr. George Ross Brinkley Jr., who died Sept. 11, 1982.
Born in Clarksburg, W.Va., on July 24, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Loring Lombard and Norma Smith Tonkin.
Mrs. Brinkley was a homemaker and for many years, she was a breeder of show ponies. She was one of the founding members of the Frederick Pony Club and the New Market Hounds. She was a very active bridge player and member of the Frederick and Hagerstown Bridge Clubs, and a member of the New Market Garden Club. She was very active in the Frederick and Middletown Women's Republican Clubs.
Mrs. Brinkley was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Market, the church vestry and the Daughters of the King.
Surviving are her four children, Norma Brinkley Staley and husband, Patrick, of Monrovia, Md., Elizabeth Brinkley Sponseller and husband, Michael, Sen. David Ross Brinkley and wife, Sallie, and Dr. Susan Brinkley-Gowl and husband, Wade, all of New Market; one sister, Norma Tonkin Brigham of Williamsburg, Va; 11 grandchildren, D. Gordon Staub and wife, Kelly, J. Christopher Staub and wife, Paula, Ryan P. Staley, H. Luba Staley, P. Ross Brinkley Staley, Lusa A. John Barnett "Bud" Tonkin went with peace to meet his God on March 23, 2006 at his Clarksburg home following a brief illness. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on May 16, 1919, Mr. Tonkin was preceded in death by his parents, Loring Lombard Tonkin and Norma Smith Tonkin.
Bud attended Randolph-Macon Academy, Mercersburg Academy, Lehigh University and West Virginia University where he graduated as an engineer. He began his career at Hope Natural Gas Company in 1945 and he retired from Consolidated Gas Supply Corporation as a Division IV Manager in 1981.
Mr. Tonkin served his country during World War II in England with the 8th Air Force, 457th Bomb Group as a First Lieutenant, and was a bombardier/navigator on the B-17 Flying Fortresses. Bud successfully completed 35 combat missions over Nazi Germany and was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross with one oak leaf cluster, five Air Medals, The Presidential Citation and four Bronze Stars.
Twice married, Mr. Tonkin was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Sturdevant, whom he married in 1945. They had three children: son, Loring L. "Tim" Tonkin and wife Veronica and grandchildren Holly and Luke of Charleston, WV; son, John B. Tonkin, Jr. and grandson Jeb of Weston, WV; and daughter, Nancy S. Tonkin of Nitro, WV.

Bud was an Episcopalian by faith, and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Clarksburg. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Clarksburg Country Club since 1950 and also a member of The Vines Country Club in Ft. Myers, FL where he and Betty were winter residents.
In addition to his passion for golf, Bud loved to play cards, fish the streams of West Virginia, garden and work in his yard.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 in the Christ Episcopal Church, 6th and Main Street, Clarksburg with Rev. Michael Jupin presiding. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters; Margaret (Tauby) Crumrine of Scottsdale, AZ; Mary (Lindy) Davis of Naples, FL and Martha (Pug) Spelsberg of Baltimore, MD.
Bud was an Episcopalian by faith, and a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Clarksburg. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Clarksburg Country Club since 1950 and also a member of The Vines Country Club in Ft. Myers, FL where he and Betty were winter residents.
In addition to his passion for golf, Bud loved to play cards, fish the streams of West Virginia, garden and work in his yard.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 in the Christ Episcopal Church, 6th and Main Street, Clarksburg with Rev. Michael Jupin presiding. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Christ Episcopal Church, 6th and Main St., Clarksburg, WV 26301 or People's Hospice, P. O. Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26302.4
He was buried at Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Harrison Co., West Virginia.2 His Social Security Number was 233-16-6957, issued in West Virginia before 1951, lists birth as 16 May 1919 and death as 23 Mar 2006, last residence being Clarksburg, West Virginia.
