Martha Booth Mitchell, 80, of Meadville, formerly of Rogersville and Houston, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2009, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, after being in failing health since August.
She was born August 2, 1928, in McMechen, W.Va., a daughter of Frederick Harold and Lydia Pearl Harn Booth.
Mrs. Mitchell had resided in Houston for 42 years prior to moving to Meadville in 2000.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Meadville and was a former member of Rogersville United Methodist Church and had attended Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Meadow Lands.
Mrs. Mitchell was a graduate and salutatorian of the Class of 1947 from the former Center Township High School in Rogersville.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was last employed as a seamstress with Ace Reconditioning in Washington.
Mrs. Mitchell enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, scenery painting and the time she was able to spend with her family.
On August 4, 1946, she married Fred Johnson Mitchell, who died December 9, 2008.
Surviving are three daughters, Bonna K. Goodnight of Petroleum, W.Va., Mary M. and husband William Sherrod of Meadville and Nancy E. and husband Mark Janosky of Perryburg, Ohio; a son, John W. and wife Donna Mitchell of Pittsburgh; a sister, Vileta and husband Arthur Fletcher of Inman, S.C; a brother, Willis H. and wife Lisa Booth of North East; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a great-grandson, Zachery Thomas William, who died at the age of 18 months; and two brothers, George Adin and Floyd Wayne Booth.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, with Dr. Terry Clark of First Christian Church of Meadville officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Christian Church of Meadville, 503 North Main Street Ext., Meadville, PA 16335. He entered active service on 02 Mar 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with service number of 33-437-905. He was separated from active service on 21 Jan 1946 in Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania. Tarzan enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943 and served honorably in the 3rd Army Division as a gunner during World War II under General George Patton in Europe.
Family and friends are invited to call at Messiah Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service to be conducted there at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Jeffrey J. Piccirilli.2 Willis Harold Booth died on 19 August 2018 at Pennsylvania at age 94.2

Delores Nellie Perkins was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Little Falls to Pete and Louise (Lakin) Borgstrom. She was baptized and confirmed in First Lutheran Church in Pillager and graduated from Pillager High School in 1951.
On June 28, 1952, Delores married Willis Perkins in St. Paul, Minn. Following their marriage, they lived in Red Wing where both Jodi and Ann were born. They moved to Albert Lea and then to Thief River Falls where they managed a motel. In 1982, they moved to Madison and purchased the Pantry Café which they operated until retiring in 1997 and moving to their home on Silver Lake by Battle Lake. Willis passed away in August of 2001.
Delores enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her families, especially her grandchildren, at the lake. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake.
Delores met a special friend, Lowell Franze, and they enjoyed dancing, attending county fairs, ball games, parades and other community functions together. She appreciated being a part of Lowell's family.
She is survived by two daughters, Jodi (Randy) Arends of Madison and Ann Perkins of Jefferson City, Mo; three grandchildren, Dean and Julie Arends of Madison and Kassidy Perkins of Jefferson City; a sister, Eleanor Larson; two brothers, Darrel (Phyllis) Borgstrom and William (Carol Jean) Borgstrom; and a sister-in-law, Ardis Borgstrom.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis; a sister, Arlene Borgstrom; a brother, Robert Borgstrom; and brother-in-law, Dwain Larson.
Visitation: 1 hour prior to the service. Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. Clergy: Rev. Jake Dyrhaug. Burial: First Lutheran Cemetery, Battle Lake.
