Peter Rupel married Christina Shumaker circa 1823.¹ Peter Rupel died on 6 September 1839 at age 38.¹ He was buried at Centre Twsp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹ John Coleman records FHL film 1673524 item 14.

Phoebe Rupel married Andrew Yoder circa 1867.² Phoebe Rupel died on 12 December 1916 at age 77.² She was buried at Bowman Cemetery, Portage Twsp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹ Phoebe and Andrew had two children, Beryl and Clyde. Also had 4 step-children, Joseph, William, Marilda, Ella.

     Rachel Rupel was also known as Ruple. She was born on 1 May 1836 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. She was the daughter of Jacob Rupel and Catherine Griffith. Rachel Rupel married Calvin Davis Harn, son of Elisha Lemuel Harn and Keziah Griswell, on 25 October 1856 at Niles, Berrien Co., Michigan.^1,2 Rachel Rupel was a Keeping-house. She and Calvin Davis Harn were divorced on 25 May 1887 at Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon.³ The 1900 Census has Rachel born Mar 1836, and married 44-years. Rachel Harn died on 9 January 1906 at Shieldsville, Rice Co., Minnesota, at age 69.^4,5 Death Record lists name as "Rachel Ruple Harn", divorced. The cause of death was Neuralgia of Heart. She was buried circa 1906 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Faribault, Rice Co., Minnesota.⁶ In Harn Family Bible, Rachel's lastname listed as Rupel. Grave lists Rachel Rupel Harn 1836-1906. Death Record has parents as Jacob Ruple and C. Griffith of PA.

     Ralph Rupel was born circa 1894.¹ He was the son of Ernest Burr Rupel and Hallie Smith. Ralph Rupel died circa 1895.¹

     Robert Rupel was born circa 1853 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of Jacob P. Rupel and Ann Maria Stover. Robert Rupel married Anna D. White circa 1882.¹

     Robert Alexis Rupel was born on 6 August 1908 at St. Joseph Co., Indiana. He was the son of Alexis Coquillard Rupel and Mary Elizabeth Drollinger. Robert Alexis Rupel died on 1 February 1974 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 65. He was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹

     Sarah Rupel was born circa 1831 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Jacob Rupel and Catherine Griffith. Sarah Rupel married Isaiah Rush, son of Jesse Rush and Mary Sumption, on 1 January 1852 at Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹ Sarah Rupel died on 26 March 1856 at Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹ She was buried at Oakland Cemetery, Elkhart Co., Indiana.¹

     Tyra B. Rupel was born circa 1842 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of John Rupel and Susannah Bowman. Tyra B. Tyra and Tilman were twins.

     Unknown Rupel was the child of Jacob Ruple and Leah Miller. Unknown Rupel died before 1880.¹

     Ward Rupel was born on 12 November 1888 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of Isaac Rupel and Susan Fisher. Ward Rupel died on 8 December 1914 at Epworth Hospital, Centre Twsp., St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 26.¹

In the book, THE RUPLE FAMILY IN AMERICA AND ITS GERMANIC HERITAGE, by Jack Damon Ruple, Sr., page 133-134. Jack D. Ruple Sr. states that "The records of the Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County contain a signed copy of a Jacob Ruple's will..."
Following is the complete text of that will:
"In the Name of God Amen. I Jacob Ruple of Turkeyfoot Township in the state of Pennsylvania farmer being in perfect state of health of body, and of perfect mind and memory thanks to be given to God calling into Mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that gave it, and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent christian manner, at the discretion of my Exeutrix, Margaret Ruple, nothing doubting but in the general Resurrection I shal receive the same again by the Almighty power of God - and as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose of the same in the manner and form following - First I give and bequeath to Margaret Ruple, My Dearly Beloved Wife all My Landed property that I am at this time possessed of - with all stock and movable affects During the Term of her Natural Life, and as I considered my son Jacob to have had a sufficiency by the Land I gave him on the Negro Mountain for his share, I therefore give and Bequeath My afforesaid Tract of Land I now live on after the decease of his mother Margaret Ruple to my son John Ruple and his heirs, and should the said John die without Heirs, and should the said Estate shall be divided among my five children, Martin, Peggy, Nancy, Betsy, and Barbary, and the said Heir is to pay my daughter Barbary the sum of Fifty pounds in Spanish Milled Dollars at seven shillings and six pen each, in 12 months after the decease of her mother Margaret Ruple. I also give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy the remaining half tract of land that I sold to George Barnet, I also give and Bequeath to my son, John, the Horse I got of Mr. Ellis immedialy after my decrease, and I also give and bequeath to my son Martin the yearling Mare - I also give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy and Barbary each of them a horse, cow, and sheep. Exclusive of an equal divison of the remaining movables, I give and bequeath my sugar camp place for the life of the heirs of my Landed property I now live on, I also give and bequeath to the Heirs of my landed estate the wagon and wind Mill. And do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disanul all and every other testaments Wills, Legacies and Bequeaths in any ways made by me Excepting what I gave to my son Jacob Ruple, and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament, In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Sixteenth Day of July, 1795. /s/ "

Jack Damon Ruple Sr. continues on page 134 of his book, that "The August, 1974, issue of the "Laurel Messenger" of Somerset County reported the following:

     Aaron Adson Ruple was born on 17 December 1825 at Somerset Co., Pennsylvania.¹ He was the son of John Rupel and Elizabeth Bird (Byrd). Aaron Adson Ruple married Amanda Eugenia Hart, daughter of Joshua W. Hart.      Ada Ruple was born circa January 1879 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of Allen Ruple and Orline Starner. Ada Ruple married William Mallon.

     Ada M. Ruple was born circa 1877 at Indiana.¹ She was the daughter of William Ruple and Matilda Angle.

     Alfred Ruple was born on 16 December 1839 at Indiana.² He was the son of James Ruple and Sarah Wagner Wood. Alfred Ruple married Mary Ellen Dils on 29 June 1862 at St. Joseph Co., Indiana; In 1900, resided in St. Joseph Co., Michigan. Jim Coleman lists name as Alford, married to Mary E. DITTS. J-Coleman lists Alford's kids as Elmar,Melvin,Arthur,Ludely,Edney.
