Georgia Fay Struck, affectionately known as "Fay" to family and friends, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her daughter's residence in Lyman, Wyoming.

Fay was born on Thursday, August 19, 1937, in Livingston, Montana, and lived a life of dedication and love that touched everyone around her.

A 1955 graduate of Manderson High School in Big Horn County, Wyoming, Fay was committed to her family and community. She balanced a career as a store clerk with her passion for being a devoted homemaker. For 38 years, she worked at OJ’s and Library Grocery where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on customers and colleagues alike.

Fay's love extended beyond her work, embracing the great outdoors. She cherished camping and fishing trips, especially when shared with her beloved grandchildren. Her affection for the mountains was evident, often referring to her camper as her second home.

Fay was dedicated to Holy Spirit Catholic Community, she volunteered at God's Little Corner, taught CCD and attended Adoration Chapel at 3:00 a.m. for many years.

She married George Struck at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Casper Wyoming on April 21, 1956; he preceded her in death on November 24, 2014 in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Fay leaves behind a legacy of love and care. She is survived by her son, Daniel Struck; three daughters, Bonnie Legerski, Terresa Redman and husband Steve, Susan Nichols; her sister, Sharon Sanders and husband Merrill; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Legerski and wife Meagan, Kristin Doerr and husband Jason, Phillip Nichols; Daniel Nichols and wife Sarah; six great-grandchildren, Ava and Addison Doerr, Sadie Nichols, Leah, Trey, and Emri Legerski. She is also survived by a bonus son, George Bullington and wife Benita, long-time PA and nephew Mark Sanders, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George William Struck; her son, David Struck; her parents and mother-in-law, Freda Struck; her sisters-in-law, Viola Bullington and Betty Howell; and her sons-in-law, Bob Legerski and Steve Nichols, as well as her brother David Warfel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m Monday, January 20, 2025 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. A Vigil Service with Rosary will be held in her honor at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the church. Graveside Services and Inurnment will be conducted at a later date.

     Grace Alma Warfel was born on 3 December 1885 at Salem, Dent Co., Missouri.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Brewster Warfel and Caroline Nelson. Grace Alma Warfel married Arch E. Duckworth in April 1908 at Salem, Dent Co., Missouri. Grace Alma Warfel lived in August 1938 at St. Louis, St. Louis City, Missouri.² She died on 12 May 1973 at Alton, Madison Co., Illinois, at age 87.¹ She was buried on 15 May 1973 at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Dent Co., Missouri.¹

     Grace Edna Warfel was born on 22 February 1902 at Oregon.¹ She was the daughter of Otis Edward Warfel and Ida Rucker. Grace Edna Warfel married Harrison Clark Middleton Bigbee in 1921.      Harriett Alma Warfel was born on 11 October 1909 at Bunker, Dent Co., Missouri. She was the daughter of Harry Ernest Warfel and Edith Lewis.

Alma Warfel was single when she sailed from San Francisco, CA to Honolulu, Hawaii on 23Feb1927 on the SS Manoa, returning to San Francisco on 01Sep1927.

Harriett Alma Warfel married Kenneth R. Perry circa 1929. Harriett Alma Warfel and Kenneth R. Perry were divorced before 1950 at California. Harriett Alma Warfel lived in November 1952 at San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California.¹ She died on 27 May 2007 at California at age 97.

     Harry Ernest Warfel was born on 23 April 1887 at Salem, Dent Co., Missouri.¹ He was the son of James Stewart Warfel and Harriet Edwards. Trucker Dies; Pupils Unhurt In Bus Crash
Twenty four Selma students narrowly escaped injury at 4:15 p. m. Oct. 29 when a school bus driven by Walter Dale, 51, collided with a flat rack truck driven by H. E Warfel, 60, of Selma.
Mr. Warfel died at the Selma Sanitarium Saturday, Nov. 1, from internal injuries. Dale was uninjured.
The incident took place at the Saginaw Temperance intersection southeast of Selma.
4 Officers Investigate
Four California highway patrol officers investigated. Sergeants Phil Babel and Jerry Triplett and Officers Ray Robertson and Jack Maroney noted 51-inch skid marks at the scene.
The bus was slightly damaged. Damage to the truck was more extensive.

     James Alexander Warfel was born on 1 January 1824 at Altoona, Blair Co., Pennsylvania.² He was the son of Emanuel Warfel and Sarah Elizabeth Shade. James Alexander Warfel married Martle Helen Hopkins, daughter of Benjamin Franklin Hopkins and Catherine Smith, in 1850 at Pennsylvania. In June 1880 James Alexander Warfel was a farmer. James Stewart Warfel lived in January 1941 at Selma, Fresno Co., California.³ He lived in November 1952 at Selma, Fresno Co., California.⁴ He died on 24 January 1955 at Selma, Fresno Co., California, at age 95.^5,6,2

Funeral Services For James Warfel To Be Held Today
Funeral services for James S. Warfel, 95, will be held at 10 a. m. today, January 27, at the J. L. Robinson Funeral Home. Mr. Warfel died January 24. The Rev. Roy B. Weaklend will officiate. Funeral will be in Floral Memorial Park. A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Warfel was a retired rancher and lived in Selma for 17 years. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hatten and Mrs. Odel Bellany, both of Selma; Mrs. Virginia Light, Missouri, and Mrs. Lottie Freeman of Visalia; two sons, Paul of Montana and Glenn of Missouri; a brother, Oren Warfel of Missouri; 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

     Jesse Hampton Warfel was born in June 1837 at Mifflin, Juniata Co., Pennsylvania.^1,2 He was the son of Emanuel Warfel and Sarah Elizabeth Shade. Jesse Hampton Warfel married Martha Farrell Davis on 1 March 1859 at New Castle, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania.¹ Jesse Hampton Warfel began military service on 3 September 1864.³

Jesse was a Private in Company M of the 6th Regiment, Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery during the Civil War.³ He ended military service on 13 June 1865.³



GOLDEN WEDDING.
Last Monday Jesse H. Warfel and wife celebrated their golden wedding. Mr. Warfel was born in Mifflin, Pa and reared in Lawrence county of the same state. Martha Davis was born in Lawrence county. Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Warfel were married in New Castle, Pa., March 1, 1859. They removed to Youngstown, Ohio, in 1882.
In 1884 they removed to Brown county, Kas., near Morrill, where they have resided ever since. They now reside on. their farm four miles west and two miles north of Morrill, where they have resided ever since. They have both passed the seventy-year mark and are enjoying excellent health. There was born to them eight children, five boys and three girls, all of whom are living; and twenty-three grandchildren living and two dead.

A large number of their relatives and friends gathered to enjoy the occasion with them. A sumptuous dinner was served to the many guests gathered. After dinner, the time was spent in going over old times, it being forty-two years since some of them had seen each other. Rev. Fees of Robinson performed the ceremony, after which Mr. Duffe of Holton took the bride and groom a fine ride in his automobile. The News joins with the many friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Warfel many more happy and prosperous years of wedded life.

Bullet Holes Mystery to Law Officers
BILLINGS (UPI) - A Billings area sheepherder hasn’t been stringing barbed wire around cattle ranches, but he’s still having ranch feud troubles.
LeRoy Warfel, 21, of Lovell, Wyo., appeared Thursday in downtown Billings with three spanking new bullet holes in the windshield of his pickup truck. The bullet holes are still a mystery to the lawmen in the area, but other difficulties were brought to light when Warfel was taken to justice court on a disturbance charge.
He was employed by Joe Cormier, a Billings area sheepman After a disagreement with Rick McGary, foreman of the R. B. Frazier Ranch, Warfel was fired.
Cormier told sheriff’s officers he wasn’t too disturbed when Warfel tried to run 1,500 head of sheep belonging to the Frazier outfit, off the Cormier ranch. It was the fact that Warfel allegedly was drinking at the time of the incident and got into a fracas with McGary.
Cormier told officials the drinking kept up and he eventually had to file a complaint. Warfel was fined $5 on the disturbance charge.
Sheriff’s deputies are still trying to find out what the bullet holes were doing in the truck. Warfel said they had nothing to do with his quarrel with McGary or his being fired.

     Lorena Gertrude Warfel also went by the name of Rena. She was born on 21 January 1912 at near Cherryville, Crawford Co., Missouri.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of George Oren Warfel and Clara Adlee Godbey. Lorena Gertrude Warfel was never married.

The Missouri State Sanatorium, later known as the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, was established in 1907 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, to treat tuberculosis, and it was later expanded to treat other cardiac and pulmonary diseases.

She leaves to mourn her departure her father and mother, Oren and Clara Warfel of Keysville, Mo., two brothers Herbert and Benny Warfel of St. Louis, Mo; five sisters, Mrs. Pete Albutz and Mrs. Elmer Hall of St. Louis; Miss Viola Warfel, Mrs. Jentry Hutson and Mrs. Bill Gray of Keysville, and hosts of other relatives and friends.
L. J. Jonas, Funeral Directors, were in charge of the funeral services which was conducted at the Keysville Church by Rev. J. M. Smith. The remains were laid to rest in the New Home Cemetery.

Lottie never married William Reynolds. He was a married man, and he went back to his wife before their son Gary (Freeman) was born.³

A service was held Tuesday at Page Funeral Chapel, Selma, for Lottie "Sue" Freeman of Dinuba. Bishop Alva D. Blackburn officiated. Burial was in Floral Memorial Park, Selma. Mrs. Freeman died Oct. 17. She was 89. She was born in Dent County, Mo., and had lived in Fresno before moving to Dinuba. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a homemaker. She is survived by three sons, Alvin Leroy Egbert of Oakdale, Kenneth Warfel Egbert and Gary Freeman, both of Dinuba; a daughter, Glyn Buchanan of Dinuba; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was born on 6 March 1908 at Cherryville, Crawford Co., Missouri.¹ She was the daughter of George Oren Warfel and Clara Adlee Godbey. Nancy Esther Pauline Warfel was a Catholic. She married Peter Aloysius Albietz on 25 June 1927 at St. Louis, Missouri. Nancy Esther Pauline Warfel lived in January 1943 at St. Louis, Missouri.² She died on 17 February 2000 at Missouri at age 91.¹ She was buried on 21 February 2000 at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pagedale, St. Louis Co., Missouri.¹

     Otis Edward Warfel also went by the name of Ott. He was born on 13 May 1872 at Howes, Dent Co., Missouri.¹ He was the son of James Alexander Warfel and Martle Helen Hopkins. Otis Edward Warfel married Ida Rucker in 1900. Otis Edward Warfel died in November 1901 at Howes, Dent Co., Missouri, at age 29. He was buried at Wilderness Cemetery, Oregon Co., Missouri.¹
