Roland E. Doan married Eleanora Havel, daughter of Joseph Havel and Mary Sklenar, on 2 June 1955 at Monterey Co., California. Roland E. Doan and Eleanora Havel were divorced on 3 September 1955 at Reno, Washoe Co., Nevada.1

RENO DECREE PARTS DOANS
RENO (Nev.), Sept. 3.—Nora Ritschel Doan, 58, widow of the famed American artist William Ritschel,
yesterday divorced the retired Army colonel she married just three months ago after a whirlwind courtship that began in a voting booth.
Her vows to Lt. Col. Roland E. Doan last June 2, at the Monterey Presidio came as a big surprise to members of the art colony at Carmel Highlands, where Mrs. Doan lives.
While the colonel looked on stony faced in a corridor outside the courtroom here, just before his wife obtained her divorce, Mrs. Doan declared to friends:
"As far as I am concerned this marriage was over just after the honeymoon started.”
Mrs. Doan’s first husband, William Ritschel, was 84 when he died in the Carmel Highlands home he built with his own hands. He was for years a central figure in the art colony there. Mrs. Ritschel was his secretary when they were married in 1930.
