Funeral services for Orlando Gerhard Lien, who passed away July 14 at the Northfield City Hospital at the age of 48, were held Monday, July 17 at 2 p.m. at the Vang Lutheran Church with the Rev. John E. Fahning officiating. Lois Johnson was accompanied by organist Mrs. Cyrus Midge in two selections. Pallbearers were Oswald Lee, Myron Ellingboe, Bernard Ellingboe, Arnold Ellingboe, Ulysses Kalseth and Lester Kalseth. Interment was in the Vang Cemetery with graveside services by Eugene H. Truax VFW Post of Northfield. Mr. Lien, son of Andrew and Anna Lockrem Lien, was born June 2, 1919 in Northfield Township. He was baptized and confirmed at the Vang Lutheran Church, of which he was a life member, June 9, 1951 he was united in marriage to Meredith Haugen of Dennison, Minn. They established their home on the Lien homestead where he lived his entire life except for the time he served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. He is survived by his widow; three children, Russell, Rebecca and Douglas; one brother, Lloyd of Faribault; four sisters, Gladys (Mrs. Roy Husbyn) of Cannon Falls, Irene (Mrs. Francis Powers) of Inglewood, Calif., Alice (Mrs. Obert Eggum) of Dennison and Dorothy (Mrs. Lorry Starch) of Nerstrand and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Agnes.

Sarah Catherine Lilley was born on 13 January 1888 at Heistersburg, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Henry Louis Lilley and Rebecca Brooks. Sarah Catherine Lilley married Aden Wesley Harn, son of Henry Alexander Harn and Elizabeth Porter, on 8 July 1904 at Armond, Huntingdon Co., Pennsylvania.1 Sarah Catherine Lilley died on 20 October 1941 at Arensburgh Station, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania, at age 53.1,2 She was buried at Acklin Cemetery, Luzerne Twsp., Fayette Co., Pennsylvania.2
Following undated obituary, was in a letter from Mildred Harn in March 1995:

Arod Reuben Lilly also went by the name of Tom. He was born on 21 June 1878 at Stanberry, Gentry Co., Missouri.1,2,3 He was the son of Samuel Wesley Lilly and Mary Jane Hague. Arod Reuben Lilly died on 27 March 1966 at Wilcox Rest Home, Caldwell, Canyon Co., Idaho, at age 87.2,3 He was buried at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Canyon Co., Idaho.2 Arod R. Lilly filled out a World War II Draft Registration card.1 He was never married.
Harold Warren Redman hunted a great deal with his Great Uncle Tom Lilly.

CALDWELL - Services for A. R. (Tom) Lilly, 87, Caldwell, who died Sunday in a Caldwell rest home, will be conducted at the Flahiff Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Gail Davis of the Treasure Valley Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be at Canyon Hill.
Mr. Lilly was born June 21, 1878, in Stansberry, Mo., and moved with his parents as a child to Kansas. The family moved to Cherry County, Neb., in 1888, and he homesteaded near Brownlee, Neb., in 1899. He later sold the farm and moved to Toledo, Ore., and then to Bishop, Calif., where he served on the police force for a time, and also was a forest ranger in California. He later was foreman of a road-grading crew in Yellowstone National Park, and then ranched near Hardin, Mont., until 1925, when he came to Caldwell and purchased a farm. He moved to a farm near Homedale in 1937, where he lived until retiring in 1947. He came here two-and-a-half years ago from Homedale.
He was a member of the Homedale First Christian Church and the Empire IOOF Lodge of Homedale.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Ebben, Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. Laura Pitts, The Dalles, Ore., and Mrs. Zella Hauck, Caldwell. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
The family suggests no flowers or memorials.
