Canton – Charles Harold Harn, 78, of Canton, IL passed away at 7:17 pm Saturday, July 12, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born June 8, 1936 in Canton to Charles A. and Audrey (Kanouse) Harn. Charlie married Bonnie Ellis on January 1, 1960 in Summum, IL.
She survives along with their daughter, LuAnn (Mark) Kimbrell of Canton; son, Michael (Tina) Harn of Wickenburg, AZ; two grandchildren, Nick Schall and Shallen Harn; brother, Alan Harn of Lewistown; and sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Harn of Canton.
Charlie worked for NuWay Laundry, Lucky Boy Bread, International Harvester, and Mid-Century Telephone, where he retired in 1997.
He was a 1954 Lewistown High School graduate.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton.
He was a US Army veteran serving from 1954 to 1957.
Charlie loved cameras and photography. He was a charter member of the Canton Camera Club and also a member of the Canton American Legion Post 16.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 16th at 6:00 pm at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home, Canton with visitation two hours prior.
Rev. Glenn Nestlerode will officiate.
Memorials may be to the Salvation Army or First Christian Church Bus Ministry.

Miss Lottie Harn, daughter of Mrs. E. L. Harn, died yesterday afternoon at her home on South Park street, of consumption, aged eighteen years. She had been ailing for several years, and her death was not unexpected. She was a young lady possessed of those qualities which constitute a model woman and her kindly disposition and ways had made her the center of a circle comprising all who knew who and none will more deeply mourn her death in the very morning of her life than those who know her best.

Clyde E. “Pete” Harn, 84, Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday at UPMC Altoona following an extended illness, and is dancing delightfully with him. He was born in Hanover, son of the late Abraham W. and Edith Ellen (Ambrose) Harn.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Helena M. (Shaffer), whom he married on June 15, 1963; three daughters: Wendy (Ed) Nyiri, Holly (Terry) Garman and Mary Joy (Brad) Petrunak; four sons: Dan (Patti), Tim, Scott and Aaron Harn; eight grandchildren: Ashley Harn, Cassandra Fink, Kyle Nyiri, Martina Doran, Terry “Buddy” Garman, Jade Petrunak, Dan Harn Jr. and Summer Over; 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters; a sister, Virginia Foor; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Viola Eyers; and by two brothers, Jim and Sonny Harn.

Pete was an avid hunter and enjoyed roller skating, woodworking, puzzles and word searches. He was a member of the Altoona Full Gospel Church and was employed as a baker at Marhofer Bakery. He retired from McCartney’s as an installer. Pete served in the U.S. Army from 1956-59.

Family and friends will be received from 1 until the 2:30 p.m. funeral service on Saturday Aug. 15, 2020, at the Altoona Full Gospel Church, Lakemont, with Pastor Ron Campbell officiating. Interment will take place in Alto Reste Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with The Good Funeral Home Inc.
