RONAN - Marjorie Ann Jones passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11,2011, surrounded by her daughters at St. Luke's Hospital in Ronan.
Her health had recently failed and eventually she succumbed to congestive heart failure. Marjorie and her twin sister Myrtle were born in St. Ignatius on March 15, 1933. She was one of 14 children born to William Herbert Noel and Laura Cecelia Glover. Her surviving siblings include Barbara Ross, Gerald Noel (Mae) and Patsy Anderson (Larry). She was 78 years young when she passed. Her memory and quick wit surprised many of her family and friends.

During Marjorie's younger years, she worked at Eddie's Drug and the Ranch Supper Club in Polson. She did not drive but was often seen walking from jobs to home and back. She frequently worked two jobs at the same time providing for her family. Marjorie was working at Eddie's Drug when she met Wesley Jones and she retired from retail and become a full-time homemaker caring for children and grandchildren at the family home. Marjorie was an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.

Marjorie had several loves in her life including Wesley Lowell Jones, who preceded her in death after 37 years of marriage. She was also married to Richard "Dick" Wall and Arthur "Bud" Roat.

Marge was a frequent sigh at local casinos while Wes waited for her in the car or lobby. They loved spending time together going to rummage sales, going for scenic drives, powwows and going to the lake.

Marjorie had four daughters, Jeanne Christopher of Ronan, Teresa Wall-McDonald (Thomas) of Ronan, Julie Johnson (Brian) of Red Bluff, Calif., and Jody Jones of Polson. She also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to share stories and memories about Marjorie at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Grogan Funeral Home in Polson. Those who truly knew Marjorie and her love of cooking are invited to come and enjoy a piece of pie and coffee. Cremation has taken place per Marjorie's wishes. Matthew “Matt” Don Noel passed away suddenly on May 19th, 2022 at the age of 45.

He was born on December 16th, 1976 to his parents Jeff Noel and Peggy (Brieland) Noel. He was raised in Stephen, MN alongside his younger sister Andrea (Noel) Olsonawski. He played football for the Stephen Tigers throughout his time at Stephen-Argyle Central. He enjoyed 22 years of his life working as an electrician, most notably at Noel Electric with his father and best friend, Jeff. Matt was well known in Stephen for helping everyone and greeting fellow community members with a smile. He spent his free time outdoors, often hunting, trapping, fishing, and woodcarving.

Matt is survived by his daughter, Madison “Madi” Kuznia (Julie Kuznia) and beloved dog, Vega. He is also remembered fondly by his mother Peggy Noel, and his nephews and niece Noel, Aaron, Ryan, and Kate Olsonawski and his brother-in-law Mark Olsonawski. He was preceded in death by his father, Jeff Noel, in 2018, and his sister Andrea (Noel) Olsonawski in 2020.

Matt’s life will be celebrated through a prayer service and a funeral at First Lutheran Church in Stephen, MN. The prayer service will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 7 pm, with visitation beginning at 6 pm. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 27th at 10:30 am with lunch to follow.

BOZEMAN - Norman R. Noel worked for a few years on the RV Ranch west of Helena, in construction for the city of Helena and as a janitor for Mountain Bell. He was an avid sportsman and loved his family and the outdoors.
Mr. Noel, 65, died Wednesday morning in Bozeman Deaconess Hospital of a heart attack.
Born in Blackduck, Minn., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Noel, he attended schools in Blackduck. On Sept. 21, 1952, he married Betty Lindgren in Minnesota. They moved to Helena in 1955, and lived in Columbus from 1983 until moving to Bozeman in April.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Dan (Patricia) Kulzak of Chicago, III., Mrs. Alfred (Mary) Hodik and Mrs. Patrick (Donna) Keefe, both of Billings, and Mrs. Daniel (Lillian) Pocha and Mrs. LaVerne Sicotte, both of Helena; two sons, Marvin Chase of Potomac and Larry Noel in the Navy in Seattle, Wash; a sister, Ella Metzner of Bemidji, Minn; two brothers, Eddie and Harry, both of Helena; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dahl Funeral Chapel is in charge of cremation.

Our beloved Patsy Mae Anderson passed away peacefully on May 16 at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones after a short illness. Patsy was born July 8, 1937 at Holy Family Hospital in St. Ignatius, Montana. She was one of 14 children born to William Herbert Noel and Laura Cecelia Glover. She was a proud enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe.

Patsy was raised in Polson and graduated from Polson High School in 1955. She participated in several activities in school including flag girl, cheerleading, editor of the school newspaper and Homecoming Queen. In 1957 she earned her teaching certification from Western Montana College of Education in Dillon. In 1967 she earned a four year diploma from the University of Montana. She taught 35 years in public schools throughout the state of Montana, but primarily in the Pablo and Ronan School District. Patsy retired in 1991. Throughout her long and rewarding career in education she touched many lives.

In 1958, she married Larry Anderson at the Polson Catholic Church. Patsy and Larry recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in June 2013. To this union four children were born. Patsy was a special, wonderful, loving and caring wife and mother, grandmother and great grandmother to all.

Patsy was a gifted quilt maker and enjoyed the company of friends and family while sewing and making quilts. She enjoyed making many quilts for raffles, charity projects, fire quilts, cancer patients and baby quilts for newborns at area hospitals. Patsy also gifted beautiful quilts to her immediate family members, relatives, and friends. She had an amazing talent for putting together colors in her quilts. We cannot count the number of quilts she made in her lifetime but know that quilting gave her a deep satisfaction.

Patsy also enjoyed her summer months at the family home on Flathead Lake. She loved full moon nights on the lake as it reflected on the water and lit up the entire sky like it was daylight.

Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Amy Noelle Anderson, her parents Laura and William Noel, and twelve siblings. She is survived by husband, Larry Anderson, children Alan & Tonya Anderson, Valerie & Jerry Johnson, Karin & Tony Williams, sister Barbara Ross, grandchildren Ryan, Randi, Alyssa, Trevor, Jessica, Chelsey, Cassidy, Amber and great grandchildren Hannah, Oliver, Robert, Laurance, Everett, Autumn and Camden; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Per her wishes, a memorial mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 1002 4th Ave, Polson, MT at 10 am on Friday, May 23. Patsy will be laid to rest next to her daughter Amy Noelle Anderson in a private burial ceremony at the Lakeview Cemetery in Polson, MT. KALISPELL - BARTLETT, Pearl Noel, 87, Kalispell, died Wednesday in a Kalispell hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery. She was born in in Fosston, Minn.
She came to Polson with her family. She attended schools in Polson. She married Fred Miles in Polson in 1914 and later married William Bartlett in 1929 in Kalispell. They resided in Big Fork for many years before moving to Kalispell the late 1940s. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Miles.

She is survived by four daughters, Louise Ambrose, Kalispell, Dora Morron Ocie Kelsey, both of Whitefish, and Laverna Nielsen, Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, Raymond Bartlett, Columbia Falls, Otis Miles, Moses Lake, Wash. and Clifton Bartlett, Vancouver, Wash., 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Richard L. "Dick" Noel, 83, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, May 15, 2009. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., with Pastor Willie W. Hunt officating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow after the service at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 4200 Denton Hwy., Fort Worth 76117.

Mr. Noel was born on Nov. 5, 1925, in Thief River Falls, Minn., to Inga Brooten Noel and Clifford Noel. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1943, prior to graduating from high school, and served in the Pacific. Following his honorable discharge, he attended the University of North Dakota, graduating in May 1950. He married Lois Rezlloff in July 1953. She preceded him in death in December 1995. On Feb. 14, 1997, he married Nancy Elgin of Kansas City, Mo.

Richard began working for Chevron Chemical Company, Ortho Division, in Omaha, Neb., in 1965 and held various positions before retiring as district manager in 1985. After retirement, he enjoyed building model ships, doing stained glass work, and traveling. He was a member of bowling leagues in Watauga and Euless. He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by three daughters and six brothers. Survivors: Wife, Nancy Noel; daughters, Sherri and Kristi and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Kristen and Kade; and sisters, Norma, Dorothy, Virginia and Beverle.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, Robert David, James H., and Steven Charles; and a daughter, Joni L. Noel, all of Sheridan; six brothers, Donald and Duane, both of Thief River Falls, Charles of Rockford, III., Gerald of Minneapolis, Minn., Richard of Memphis. Tenn., and William of Yuma, Ariz , four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Buringrud and Mrs. Ben Hayn, both of Thief River Falls, Beverly Bartot of Mesa, Ariz., and Dorothy Pumula of Fargo, N.D.
Private graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Elk's Memorial Section of Sheridan Cemetery, the Elks Lodge officiating.

LIBBY - Uiva Mitchell James, 83, Libby, died in the Libby Convalescent Center Saturday evening.
She was born Feb. 18. 1897, at Foster, Minn., and married William E. Mitchell June 7, 1916. at Polson. He died in 1957. Later she was briefly married to a Mr. James.
She owned and operated a hotel and restaurant in Seattle until her retirement in 1966. She came to Libby in 1968 and was a member of the Seventh day Adventist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bud Mitchell, Libby, and Duane Mitchell, Bigfork; a sister. Pearl Bartlett, Kalispell; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p m in the Vial Funeral Home in Libby with Pastor Terry Pooler officiating. Burial will follow in the Libby Cemetery.

     Virginia May Noel was born on 26 August 1928 at Thief River Falls, Pennington Co., Minnesota.^1,2 She was the daughter of Clifford Elmer Noel and Inga Brooten. Virginia May Noel graduated circa 1946 at Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls, Pennington Co., Minnesota.² She married Arthur John Buringrud on 10 April 1949.^2,3 Virginia May Noel lived in May 1976 at Thief River Falls, Pennington Co., Minnesota.⁴ She died on 14 June 2020 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center, Erskine, Polk Co., Minnesota, at age 91.^1,2 She was buried on 17 June 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, Pennington Co., Minnesota.^1,2

Virginia Buringrud, 92 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine, MN with her loving daughter at her side.

The service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. Ale Tulu officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Virginia Mae Noel was born on August 26, 1928 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Clifford and Inga (Brooten) Noel. She attended Knox Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls.

On April 10, 1949 Virginia was united in marriage to Arthur Buringrud. Together, they made Thief River Falls their home for many years. Their children, Kate, Jon, and Debbie were all raised in Thief River Falls. Virginia always said, “Thief River Falls is a pretty good town. It supports young people – always has. It’s a good town to grow up in…and great for a long life.”

She was much loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed. Virginia was a fun loving person with many friends that she enjoyed meeting for coffee on a daily basis. She walked with a group of friends regularly. Virginia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.

Virginia is survived by her loving children, Kate of Melbourne, Australia, Jon of Munich, Germany, and Debbie of Reno, NV; grandchildren; Jessica Kaml of Fisher, MN, Romy Buecker of Duesseldorf, Germany; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Gregory; and siblings, Robert, Duane, Donald, Richard, William, Charles, Jerry, Beverly, Dorothy, Norma and baby Curtis in infancy.

Wiliam Paul Noel began military service on 4 January 1951. He ended military service on 2 November 1954. He married Ruth Elaine Poppenhagen on 14 April 1957 at Pennington Co., Minnesota. Wiliam Paul Noel lived in May 1976 at Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona.¹ He died on 21 January 2000 at Yuma, Yuma Co., Arizona, at age 68.
