DOWAGIAC - Richard M. Accoe, 87, began life on July 14, 1920, in Mishawaka, the son of Achiel and Rosalie (Lootens) Accoe. He grew up and had lived in the area his entire life. Richard served his country in the United States Navy at the end of World War II. He was united in marriage to the former Pauline Monhaut on February 19, 1944, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Richard was a dairy farmer and a district manager for the Asgrow Seed Company. He also was an Alta-Genetic Distributor. He served on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Holstein Association and the Cass County Youth Fair Board. He was an FFA and 4-H advisor, and very much enjoyed sharing his knowledge of agriculture with the youth. He was a member of the Dowagiac Elks Lodge #889 where he enjoyed playing pitch and he enjoyed playing bid euchre with his family. Richard was a parishioner at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. His loving family includes his wife, Pauline Accoe of Dowagiac; his children, Richard J. "Butch" (Lynn) Accoe of Dowagiac, Katherine (Chris) Orr of South Bend, Michael (Sue) Accoe and David (Joyce) Accoe, both of Dowagiac; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; a brother, George (Helen) Accoe of Wakarusa, IN; and a sister, Evelyn (Albert) VanPuyvelde of Moline, IL. Richard passed away on Friday, March 28th, in Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie (Joe) Bokon. His family will receive friends on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home where Father Leo Taubitz will lead a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Taubitz on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church. Richard will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Cemetery, Niles. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Cass County Youth Fair. Sept. 11, 1933 -Feb. 9. 2002 Ronald Phillip Vande Zande, 68, of Georgetown Apts., South Bend, moved past his battle with cancer at his home on Saturday, February 9, 2002. He was born on September 11, 1933, in South Bend, to Felix and Martha (Scherperal) Vande Zande, both preceding him in death. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles. Ron and wife Julia were married on September 8, 1951, and celebrated 50 years of marriage together this past year, 2001. In 1996, after 45 years of exceptional talent within South Bends Tool & Die Industry, Ron retired with Julia to their cabin retreat on Greenling Lake in Bitely, Michigan. Ron enjoyed spending time with Julia, riding motorcycles, and leisurely walking the beaches of Florida. Ron nourished a loving family, beginning with his wife, Julia, their first son, Daniel, and family, his wife, Carol, and sons, Danny and Jason. Danny and his wife, Missy, gifted Ron with his first great-grandson, Jarod on December 23, 2001. Rons second son, James, and his wife and daughter, Loretta and Olivia. Rons daughter, Debra, with her husband, Dean Munt, and their two children, Justin and Dylan. Completing their family with daughter, Ronnie Sue, and her husband, Dave Bennett, and son, Corey. Also surviving are four brothers, Edward and Eugene, both of South Bend, Jack of Edwardsburg, Ml., and Robert of Fort Wayne. Family and friends are welcomed for a tender remembrance of Ron at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, today, February 12, between the hours of 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Julia has asked memorial contributions be presented to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, for their dedicated support.      Lawrence Unckles Perkins was born on 19 May 1906 at Kirkwood, Warren Co., Illinois. He was the son of Glenn Ellsworth Perkins and Kathyrn Ives Unckles.1 Lawrence Unckles Perkins died on 14 April 1958 at Alameda Co., California, at age 51.
     Lawrence U. Perkins applied to the Sons of the American Revolution, as descendant of Captain Timothy Foster.

Captain Timothy Foster was born in Atltleboro, Mass. on 14May1720 and died in Winthrop, Maine on 03Apr1785 and who assisted in establishing American Independence.

Lawrence Unckles Perkins was born in Kirkwood, County of Warren in Illinois on 19May1906.

(1) He is the son of Glenn Ellsworth Perkins born 12Sep1880, living, and his wife Kate Ives Unckles born 23Feb1882, living, married 31Dec1902.

(2) Grandson of Charles Ellsworth Perkins born 1832, died 1908 and his wife Mary Ann Felicia Wornon born 1838 and died 1912, married 1856.

(3) Great Grandson of Timothy Foster Perkins born 1804, died 1887, and his wife Thirza Cottle Ellsworth born 1809, died 1881, married 1830.

(4) Great Great Grandson of Isaac Perkins born 1774, died 1845, and his wife Elizabeth Foster born 1777, died 1813, married 1796.

(5) Great Great Great Grandson of Timothy Foster Jr. born 1745/6, died 1825, and his wife Abigail Allen born 1750, died 1838, married 1771.

(6) Great Great Great Great Grandson of Timothy Foster born 1720, died 1785, and his wife Sibyl (Sibler) Freeman born 1723, died 1813, married 1743.

(7) Great Great Great Great Great Grandson of John Foster born 1680, died 1759, and his wife Margaret Ware born 1685, died 1761, married 1704.

Timothy Foster (No. 6) is the ancestor who assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in capacity of Captain, Massachusetts Militia.

Captain Timothy Foster removed from Attleboro, Mass. to Winthrop, Maine in 1764; was the first settler; selectman, constable, captain in the militia, an adventurous leader, his eight sons served in the Revolutionary War.

Foster, Timothy (Jr.) Private, Capt. John Blunt's co., Col. Samuel McCobb's regt; service between June 28, 1779, and September 28, 1779, 1 mo. on Penobecot expedtition.
