Mrs. Paul (Stella) Fink, 61, of Northfield, died Monday, April 24, at the Northfield City Hospital. Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Northfield with Msgr. John Sankovitz officiating and internment at the Calvary Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons: Stephen of Perth, Australia and Paul Jr. of Mound, Minn; three daughters: Mrs. Francis (Elizabeth) Krennick) of Loveland, Colo., Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Malloy of Tulsa, Okla., and Marian Fink of St. Paul; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Wayne of Huntington Beach, Calif., her mother, Mrs. Emily Skluzacek of Orange, Calif., and four grandchildren.³

Thomas Skluzacek was born in Wheatland , March 31, 1887., a son of Joseph and Katherine (Sticha) Skluzacek, natives of Bohemia. The father was by occupation a farmer, and came to this country in 1855, locating at St. Louis, remained there about one year, and then came to Minnesota, settling in Jordan, where he resided for six months. He then moved to New Prague, where he was in the hotel business for about eight years; from there he moved to Wheatland township, where he bought a farm in section 19, when he carried on until 1890. He deeded the property to his oldest son, Joseph F., and moved two miles further south where he farmed until 1907. He moved to Lonsdale where he now lives. Mr. Thomas Skluzacek was educated in the district schools of Wheatland, and at Montgomery. He spent seven months at a business college in Mankato. After leaving school he took up banking. He started as bookkeeper in the State Bank of Lonsdale, and is now cashier. He is one of a family of fourteen children. In his political views he is a Republican, and is a member of the Roman Catholic Church. He is now the village recorder and is a stockholder in the Lonsdale Bank.³

Thomas C. Skluzacek Was Engaged in Coal and Implement Business

Thomas C. Skluzacek, 60 year old Lonsdale business man, passed away at his home in Lonsdale on Thursday evening, August 7 at 9:30 o'clock. He had been ill for about seven weeks.
Thomas Skluzacek was born in Wheatland Township on March 29, (1887). He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Josef Skluzacek. He attended rural grade schools, Montgomery high school and Mankato Business College.

He started working at the Lonsdale State Bank at the age of 19 and worked there till 1930. That year he started working for the Fidendill Land Bank of St. Paul for some time. Later he became engaged in the implement and coal business in Lonsdale, which he ran to the time of his death.

He married Emily Nestaval at Montgomery on June 4, 1913. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. James (Vivian) Wayne of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Paul (Stella) Fink of Northfield.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kucera of Le Center, Mrs. Anna Schatz of Montgomery, and five brothers, Joseph F. of Lonsdale, Albert J. of Faribault, Jacob C. of Northfield, Frank A. of New Prague, and Anthony of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Christine Lepeska, Mrs. Bartlett Corser, and Mrs. George (Boutelle), and three brothers, Rev. Augustine Skluzacek, Theologue John Skluzacek and Valentine Skluzacek.

The funeral was held from the Immaculate Conception Church at Lonsdale on Saturday morning, August 9 at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Stanley Skluzacek officiated at the requiem mass. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.
Pallbearers were Francis Jirik, Leonard Skluzacek, Roland Skluzacek, Theodore Skluzacek, Frank Skluzacek, and Daniel Skluzacek, all nephews of the deceased.

Relatives and friends from out of town present at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. S. C. The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. James A. Wayne (Vivian) of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. Paul J. Fink of Northfield and four grandchildren.      Valentine M. Skluzacek was born on 13 February 1882 at Rice Co., Minnesota.^1,2 He was the son of Joseph Skluzacek Sr. and Katherine Sticha. In 1910 Valentine M. Skluzacek was a manager of lumber yard, at Rice Co., Minnesota.¹ He was never married.¹ The cause of death was Tuberculosis of the lungs for two-years.¹ He died on 20 January 1911 at Wheatland Twsp., Rice Co., Minnesota, at age 28.^1,2 He was buried on 22 January 1911 at New Prague, Le Sueur Co., Minnesota.^1,2

     Vivian Maria Skluzacek was born on 17 May 1915 at Lonsdale, Rice Co., Minnesota.² She was the daughter of Thomas Charles Skluzacek and Emily Veronica Nestaval. According to Birth Record, Vivia was born at 1 am. Birth Record lists name as "Vivia Maria Skluzacek". Vivian Maria Skluzacek married James Albert Wayne Sr., son of Frank A. Wayne and Blanche Elizabeth Tucker, circa 1933. Vivian living in San Francisco, CA in 1947 when father died. Vivian living in Huntington Beach, CA in 1978 when sister died. Vivian Maria Skluzacek died on 27 October 2005 at Dana Point, Orange Co., California, at age 90. She was buried at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Riverside Co., California.³

     David Leslie Skoblik married Holly Lynn Swearingen, daughter of Gary Lyle Swearingen and Denise Marie Richards, on 25 September 2021 at Maple Lake, Wright Co., Minnesota.

     Sena Caroline Skow was born on 7 December 1891 at Kansas. She married Harold Henry Ferguson on 16 October 1913 at Geneva, Freeborn Co., Minnesota. Sena Caroline Skow died on 22 June 1980 at Freeborn Co., Minnesota, at age 88.

     Michael Adam Skurdahl married Jodi Renea Thompson, daughter of Gary Duane Thompson and Betty Jane Spilman, on 26 October 2002 at Olmsted Co., Minnesota.^1,2

     Margaret Slabaugh was born on 17 June 1833 at Ohio.¹ She married Ammi Ruple, son of Andrew Ruple and Sarah Jane Wilkins, on 2 August 1855 at Elkhart Co., Indiana. Margaret Slabaugh died on 22 March 1916 at Indiana at age 82.^1,2 She was buried at Union Cemetery, Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana.^1,2

     Rosmary Slettvet was born on 15 December 1916 at Hollywood, King Co., Washington.¹ She married Robert Bradley Purdy, son of Paul Bradley Purdy and Lila Sophia Shapton, on 7 February 1944 at Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington. Rosmary Slettvet died circa July 1985 at Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan.² Children adopted.

     Agnes Sloan was born on 1 December 1887 at Montana.¹ She married Joseph Odelo Dupuis, son of Camille Dupuis and Philomine (?). Agnes Sloan married Marcel Arcasa in 1916. Agnes Sloan died on 27 January 1916 at Lake Co., Montana, at age 28.¹ She was buried at Beauvais Decker Catholic Cemetery, Polson, Lake Co., Montana.¹

     Ernest Frank Sloan was born on 30 July 1891 at Steele Co., Minnesota. He married Clare Jane Holmes on 16 October 1918 at Ellendale, Steele Co., Minnesota. Ernest Frank Sloan died on 13 October 1979 at Blooming Prairie, Steele Co., Minnesota, at age 88.

     Dr. Frederic James Sloan was born on 12 May 1922 at Cono Twsp., Buchanan Co., Iowa. He married Marilyn Jane Stevens in 1945. Dr. Frederic James Sloan died on 7 March 2000 at Batesville, Independence Co., Arkansas, at age 77.¹ He was buried at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens, Heber Springs, Cleburne Co., Arkansas.¹

     Mary Jo Sloan married Donald Lee Caraveau on 15 June 1991 at Kinnear, Fremont Co., Wyoming. Mary Jo Sloan died on 28 July 2022.

     Naomi Jean Sloan is the daughter of Ernest Frank Sloan and Clare Jane Holmes.¹ Naomi Jean Sloan married Albert Paul Richards, son of Abraham Paul Richards and Florence Irene Andrews, on 16 May 1948.¹

     Patricia Sue Sloan is the daughter of Dr. Frederic James Sloan and Marilyn Jane Stevens. Patricia Sue Sloan married Paul Homer Perkins, son of Homer Leslie Perkins DDS and Lucille Bertha Schroeder, on 30 August 1969 at Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., Iowa.¹

     Ruth Small was born on 1 November 1901 at Mendon, Mercer Co., Ohio.¹ She married Arnold Harn, son of Arnold Call Harn and Candace Magedelene McCammack.¹ Ruth Small died in 1996 at Rockford, Winnebago Co., Illinois.¹

     Addie May Smith was born circa August 1866 at Iowa Info from 1900 Kansas Census. She was born on 4 August 1866.² She married Hiram Maywood Harn, son of Thornton Fleming Harn and Martha Anne Cumpston. Addie May Smith died on 15 December 1919 at age 53.² She was buried at Stockton Cemetery, Stockton, Rooks Co., Kansas.²

     Allen Luther Smith married Lucille Theresa Nessler.

     Austin Percival Smith was born on 9 April 1892.¹ He was the son of Murray Hilton Smith and Mary Sophia Van Kirk. Austin Percival Smith married Leah Anita Goodrich on 16 April 1914 at New York.¹ Austin Percival Smith died on 4 May 1959 at Veterans Administration Hospital, East Orange, Essex Co., New Jersey, at age 67.¹ He was buried on 11 May 1959 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington Co., Virginia, Section 38, Grave 1567.

     Betty Jane Smith was born circa 1930.¹ She married Richard Ellsworth Jones Jr., son of Richard Ellsworth Jones and Florence Mildred Peterson, on 18 July 1953 at Hennepin Co., Minnesota.¹ Betty Jane Smith died on 10 November 2004 at Prior Lake, Scott Co., Minnesota.¹

He married Roverta Margurette Nestaval, daughter of Frank Nestaval and Euphemia McLeod, on 8 May 1965 at Los Angeles Co., California. Billy Louie Smith died on 28 February 2002 at Mesa, Maricopa Co., Arizona, at age 71.
