Anita (Neets) Squires, born August 30th, 1937, passed away September 25th, 2022 at the age of 85. Anita was at home in Oceanside, CA, surrounded by family and filled with the thoughts and prayers of those who loved her. Although she spent the first 50 years of her life in Minnesota, her ""favorite years"" were in Cortez, CO. She retired in 2007, after 17 years with the District Attorney's Office. Her involvement with the Catholic Daughters of St. Margaret Mary's church filled her with purpose and belonging. She truly felt like a member of the community. Anita was known by many simply as ""Gram,"" as she gave off a warmth and acceptance that is unique to a grandmother. She loved many things, her family, her dog Lacey, flowers, holidays and mice (the cute kind, not the ones hiding in the cupboard) to name a few. She enjoyed the last few years in Washington and California, while adventuring with her Granddaughter Jessie and family Mike and Gabriel Guzman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Squires, and daughters Kristin Squires, Amy Squires and Laurie Boveé. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Squires, grandchildren Jessica Guzman, Paul Squires, Angela Ritter and Jordan Boveé, Nick Squires, and Samantha and Patrick Angell, along with several great grandchildren and her brother Paul Nicely.

A service with be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday the 13th of October, 2022 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church followed by lunch in the reception hall. Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.

Melissa Jean Bruce, 43, Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with her family by her side. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Elk City Nazarene Church with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Melissa was born September 4, 1979, in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Steven J. Nichols and Thresa Counsil. Melissa graduated from Elk Valley High School in 1998. On August 6, 1999 Melissa married Richard Bruce and had two sons. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology from Emporia State University in 2006. Melissa worked at Independence Community College and she loved getting to help students.

Melissa’s pride was her two boys whom she loved so very much. Melissa Jean loved taking care of her boys, being with her family and friends, running, her middle name and running errands (getting ice cream) with Rick. Melissa was determined and accomplished what she set her mind to including completing a 103-mile race. Melissa was very kind and enjoyed helping others.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father Steve Nichols, mother-in-law Kay Bruce, father-in-law John Wilson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Richard of the home, two sons, Ryan and Adam, her parents, Thresa (Alan) Bowman, Rick (Judy) Vaughn, Susan Nichols, mother-in-law Marilyn Wilson, father-in-law Tom Bruce, nine siblings, Garrett “Tad” (Katie) Nichols, Keli (Matt) Kern, Amanda ( Mario) Gonzales, Andrew Duke and husband Raul Freitas, Alex Duke and husband Brandon Clarkson, Dan (Sarah) Nichols, Phillip Trujillo, Darci Bowman, Travis Bowman numerous nieces and nephews and a host cousins and extended family members.

Nichols married Susan Renee Struck, daughter of George William Struck and Georgia Fay Warfel, on 4 May 1985. Steven J. Nichols was employed between 1978 and 2015 at Jim Bridger Power Plant, Point of Rocks, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming.¹ He lived in January 2016 at 508A Yellowstone Road, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming. The cause of death was Stiff-man syndrome. He died on 20 January 2016 at 508A Yellowstone Road, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming, at age 56.

Steven J. Nichols (November 11, 1959 – January 20, 2016)

ROCK SPRINGS — Steven J. Nichols 56, of Rock Springs WY, passed away Wednesday, January 20th, 2016 peacefully at his home after fighting a battle with a terminal brain disease.

A longtime resident of Rock Springs, he was born on November 11th, 1959 in Winfield Kansas but always considered himself a Wyoming native.

He attended school in Kansas and was a graduate of South Haven High School class of 1977.

He moved to Rock Springs in 1978 and started working at Jim Bridger Power Plant, where he worked for 37 years.

He married his wife of 30 years Susan Nichols on May 4, 1985.

Steve’s interest included team roping, hunting with his family and training young horses. He especially loved roping at the ranch and going to jackpots with his son.

Survivors include his wife Susan Nichols of Rock Springs, three sons Dan Nichols and wife Sarah Nichols of Rock Springs, Garrett Nichols of Emporia Kansas and Phillip Nichols of Salt Lake City Utah, one daughter Melissa Bruce and husband Rick of Eureka Kansas, mother Eva J. Sapp of Blackwell Oklahoma, sister Susan Kutilek of Wichita Kansas, brother Bruce Crittenden of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, granddaughter Sadie Nichols, two grandsons, Ryan and Adam Bruce.

He is preceded in death by his father Arthur Nichols, stepfather, Orlan Sapp and father in law George Struck.

Steve will be remembered as a great husband, father, friend and cowboy.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 23, 2016, at the Santa Fe Southwest Grill, 1635 Elk Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming.

     Hannah Nickle was born on 2 August 1910.¹ She married George Aden Booth, son of Frederick Harold Booth and Pearl Lydia Harn, on 12 October 1944. Hannah Nickle died on 6 December 1985 at age 75.¹ She was buried at Oaklawn Cemetery, Centreville, Wilkinson Co., Mississippi.¹

     Barbara Anna Nicodemus was also known as Nannie. She was born in August 1856 at Frederick, Frederick Co., Maryland, info from 1900 Census.¹ She married Samuel E. Harn, son of Abner Harn and Sarah Margaret Eury. Barbara Anna Nicodemus died on 5 March 1942 at Unionville, Talbot Co., Maryland, at age 85.¹ She was buried at Linganore Cemetery, Unionville, Frederick Co., Maryland.²

     Alaina Justine Nicosia is the daughter of Frank Edward Nicosia and Laura Marie Mangine.¹

     Frank Edward Nicosia is the son of Frank Thomas Nicosia and Muriel Pauline Nestaval. Frank Edward Nicosia married Laura Marie Mangine, daughter of Douglas Frandis Mangine and Sharon Marie McDonough, on 14 October 1995 at Minnesota.²

     Frank Thomas Nicosia was born on 13 November 1925 at St. Paul, Ramsey Co., Minnesota. He married Muriel Pauline Nestaval, daughter of Edward John Nestaval and Agnes Martha Szermeta, on 30 October 1959 at Ramsey Co., Minnesota. Frank Thomas Nicosia died on 27 August 1980 at Ramsey Co., Minnesota, at age 54.
