     Winifred White was born on 19 September 1916 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.^1,2 She was the daughter of Gerald Harn White and Grace Bertelle Buck. Winifred White married Warren A. Steckmest on 13 September 1941 at Valley Stream Grace Methodist Church, Valley Stream, Nassau Co., New York.¹ Winifred White died on 4 March 2008 at Virginia at age 91.^1,2 She was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chambersburg, Franklin Co., Pennsylvania.² She graduated in 1934 at Valley Stream Central High School, Valley Stream, Nassau Co., New York.


Winifred W. Steckmest

CARROLLTON - Winifred White Steckmest, 91, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. Steckmest; her brother, Alan B. White; and a nephew, Robert White.
Winnie was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Sept. 19, 1916, to Gerald H. and Grace Buck White. At a young age, she and her family moved to Valley Stream, Long Island, in New York State. Winnie attended Valley Stream Central High School and was elected secretary of her senior class. Upon graduation in 1934, she attended secretarial school and was then employed by the Silver Burdett Publishing Co. in New York City.
Winnie and Warren were married in the Valley Stream Grace Methodist Church on Sept. 13, 1941. In 1954, they moved their family to Malverne, Long Island, where both Winnie and Warren were very active in scouting and various hiking groups. Winnie also worked as secretary for the Valley Stream school district's adult education program. In 1977, Winnie and Warren retired to Rumney, N.H., where they thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed rural lifestyle of northern New England. Preservation of nature and environmental issues were very important to Winnie, and she and Warren were extremely active in local groups that supported these issues. Upon Warren's death in 1998, Winnie moved from New Hampshire to Connecticut to live with her daughter, Warrene, and son-in-law, Bob. In 2006, they moved to Virginia where Winnie spent the last years of her life.
Winnie is survived by her three daughters, Warrene B. Santucci and husband, Bob, of Carrollton, Va., Deborah E. Lieberman and husband, Bruce, of Sandia Park, N.M., and Nancy A. Lanza and husband, Frank, of Sheldon, Vt. She also leaves one brother, Gerald 'Bud' White; eight grandchildren, Lynn Haburjak, Tina Weiler, Katie Storrs and her husband, Matt, Colin Lieberman and his fiancee, Alison Ray, Lindsey Lieberman, Adrian Lanza, Amelia Lanza and Ben Lanza; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Haburjak and Hunter Storrs; one nephew, Dale White and his wife, Linda Staiger-White; and one niece, Beth White.

Henry Whitehouse died on 28 August 1916 at Barber Co., Kansas, at age 83.¹ He was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Alva, Woods Co., Oklahoma.¹

     Leonard Louis Whiteman was born on 19 July 1929 at Canton, Fulton Co., Illinois.¹ He married Lucille Ellen Nash in 1948. Leonard Louis Whiteman and Lucille Ellen Nash were divorced in 1950. Leonard Louis Whiteman died on 8 May 2008 at Peoria, Peoria Co., Illinois, at age 78.¹ He was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Canton, Fulton Co., Illinois.¹ He was cremated.

     Eliza Jane Whitenack was born on 7 April 1855 at Berwick, Warren Co., Illinois.¹ She married Halcyon Xley Featherstone, son of Thomas Featherstone and Caroline A. Taylor. Eliza Jane Whitenack died on 27 April 1883 at Goodhue Co., Minnesota, at age 28.¹ She was buried at Hope Cemetery, Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.¹

     Hunter Whitmarsh is the son of Robert Mark Whitmarsh and Sherry Douglas.¹

     Kristen Marie Whitmarsh is the daughter of Robert Mark Whitmarsh and Sherry Douglas.¹

     Robert Franklin Whitmarsh was born on 8 September 1918 at Greene, Chenango Co., New York.² He married Virginia Christina Hillick, daughter of Francis Xavier Hillick and Sidney Virginia Brewer, on 28 June 1958.³ Robert Franklin Whitmarsh died on 17 January 2018 at age 99.² He was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Ithaca, Tompkins Co., New York.²

     Robert Mark Whitmarsh is the son of Robert Franklin Whitmarsh and Virginia Christina Hillick. Robert Mark Whitmarsh married Sherry Douglas on 23 January 1982.¹

Edna Pearl Whitmer married Clarence LeRoy Ehninger in 1917. Edna Pearl Whitmer died on 31 August 1966 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana, at age 69.¹ She was buried at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹

     Elmer J. Whitmer was born in March 1869 at Indiana.¹ He married Nora Angela Wenger, daughter of Christian Martin Wenger and Mary Ellen Longley, in 1892. Elmer J. Whitmer died on 3 November 1926 at San Diego Co., California, at age 57.¹ He was buried at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.¹
