Otho Reynolds Douty was born on 21 January 1828.1,2,3 He was the son of James Douty and Corrilla Harn. Otho Reynolds Douty married Sarah Anne Penn on 4 September 1851 at Frederick Co., Maryland.1,4 Otho Reynolds Douty was buried at Douty Family Cemetery, Harrisville, Carroll Co., Maryland.5 He died on 20 February 1893 at age 65.3

This well known and respected resident of West Falls, Carroll county died Feb 20th, at 1 o'clock a. m. His funeral took place on the 22nd at 10 a.m. at West Falls Chapel. The Rev. Cecil conducted the services. Interment was made in the family graveyard near his home. The pall bearers were: Eldridge Cain, Emory Adams, Joseph Hardsock, H. Dorsey, S. Elgin, C. Franklin. L. T. Lewis was the undertaker.
