Bernetta Jeanne (Mickelson) Graham, Age 81, of Coon Rapids passed away peacefully on June 21, 2018 from complications of Alzheimer's. Bernetta ("Beje" or "Bernie") was born in Morris, Minnesota and was the second oldest of the four Bernard and Etta Mickelson girls. Bernetta resided with her childhood family on a farm in Cyrus, Minnesota until she married Allen Clyde Graham on May 15, 1954. In the fall following their marriage, Allen and Bernetta moved to the Minneapolis area where Bernetta was employed at a drugstore and later at Honeywell. Allen and Bernetta had a son, Steven James Graham (Debra), and a daughter, Rachelle Marie Graham(Eric Pierskalla). Upon the birth of Allen's and Bernetta's daughter, Bernetta became a stay-at-home mother and wife. Allen and Bernetta bought a new house in Coon Rapids in 1960. In 1967, Bernetta started working at Target in Fridley and, when the Target in Coon Rapids was built, she transferred to that store where she worked until her retirement in 1996. Both Allen and Bernetta resided at their Coon Rapids home until Allen moved into assisted living in 2010. Bernetta continued to live in their Coon Rapids home until she moved into assisted living in 2015. Bernetta spent the last 14 months of her life under the loving care of the staff atThe Wellstead of Rogers. During Bernetta's lifetime, she enjoyed roller skating, playing cards, camping, boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, researching her family genealogy, working the Zion Lutheran Church Super Sale (where she was a member since 1960), laughing with her sisters, gatherings with friends, neighbors and relatives, and a good home cooked meal. In addition to enjoying their neighbors in Coon Rapids, she also enjoyed the friends they made while at their homes located in Apache Junction, AZ and on Green Lake in Wisconsin. Bernetta was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Allen Graham(2010), and her parents, Bernard and Etta Mickelson. In addition to her children and their spouses, Bernetta will be greatly missed by her Aunt Ruth Mickelson in Windom, MN; Uncle Arloand Aunt Helen Mickelson in Kentwood, MI; Aunt Elaine Felt in Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, James Graham and Emily, Hannah, and Clara Pierskalla; sisters Patricia Jevning, Clarene Schadee and Phyllis Brown; sisters and brothers-in-law; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Hailey Harn & Trevor Mielke announce the Birth of their special angel, Hazel May Mielke. Born Aug. 7, 2012 at 1:20 a.m., she stayed long enough to touch our hearts before she died at 3:20 a.m. Hazel was a beloved member of our family, and a joy to her parents. She will be missed by many in addition to her parents, including her Grandparents Judy Harn, Christine & Larry Mielke, and Larry Harn & Jeanne Taylor; her Aunts & Uncles; Great Grandmothers; Great Aunts & Uncles; Cousins; & friends of the family. While too short and bittersweet, we could not have loved her more. Now she's in Heaven where she can be held, cuddled, and loved by God, but she will live on in our hearts forever.
