Dr. Elmer Perkins, former resident of Red Wing, dies. Word has been received by relatives here of the recent death of Dr. Elmer Arthur Perkins, 70-year old former Red Wing resident, who died in Houston, Tex., following a cerebral hemorrhage on December 12. Funeral services were held in Houston.
Dr. Perkins, brother of the late Marshall T. Perkins of this city, was a native of Red Wing where he was active in music organization. He sang with the Houston Kiwanis Glee club which later, under the direction of the late Ellison Van Hosse, became a widely known musical aggregation, presenting concerts in many, sections of the country.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jesse Pease Perkins, who has been associated for many years with Mrs. Edna Saunders in the Houston entertainment and concert field; a daughter, Mrs. Julia P. Taylor; two grandchildren and a great grandchild, all of Houston.⁴ The cause of death was Cerebral Hemorrhage.⁴ In Birth Record, mother's name spelled Viola. He was buried at Glenwood Cemetery, Houston, Harris Co., Texas, Plot: Sec D-1 Lot 085.⁵

Francis V. Davis, 85, formerly of 417 1/2 W. Sixth St., died Monday afternoon at the Red Wing Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the past 2 1/2 years. Surviving are three sisters and one brother. Arrangements are with the Bodelson Funeral Home.

The book, The Sea Wing Disaster, 1990, by Frederick L. Johnson, page 94, lists Frank Perkins from Red Wing as a survivor of the Sea Wing in July of 1890. Dr. Frank Everal Perkins was born on 4 September 1874 at Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota.² He lived in 1894 at Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota. He married Daisy Dean Elliott in 1894; married 6 years according to 1900 MN census. Dr. Frank Everal Perkins died on 14 April 1924 at Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, at age 50.³ He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth, Pierce Co., Wisconsin.³

History of Dakota & Goodhue Co., MN, 1910, page 1048, states that Fred was living in Sioux Falls, SD. Fred living in Winona, MN in 1924 when father died. Fred O. Perkins lived in October 1932 at 355 West 4th St., Winona, Winona Co., Minnesota.¹ The cause of death was carcinoma of stomach for 1-year on 3 November 1932. He died on 3 November 1932 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Olmsted Co., Minnesota, at age 66.¹ He was buried in November 1932 at Winona, Winona Co., Minnesota.¹

Mrs. Joseph A. Yungers, 60, 1515 West Fourth street, Red Wing resident most of her life, died at the Methodist hospital in Rochester Thursday evening. She had been failing in health for the past four months. She was born in Hartland township on September 19, 1897, to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Perkins. As a young girl she moved with her family to Red Wing where she attended schools. Prior to her marriage in 1927 she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Red Wing Creamery. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and the Rosary society. Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Willard (Joan) Steele of Red Wing; a brother, Bert Perkins of Red Wing, and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church with the Rev. Fr. Derham Ryan officiating. Internment will be in Calvary cemetery.¹

Word has been received of the death of Dr. George A. Perkins, brother of Mrs. B.G. Featherstone and T.L. Perkins of Red Wing, on Monday morning at his summer home at Stone Lake, Wis. He was 70 years of age. Dr. Perkins grew to manhood in this community after graduating from the University of Minnesota, and later located in Dickinson, N.D. where he was a practicing physician and surgeon for almost 40 years. Surviving are his widow and one daughter, Mrs. G.E. McCune, and one grandson, Robert McCune, of Fairmont. Funeral services and internment will be held at Fairmont on Thursday, July 10.²
