     Etta Julia Ellsworth was born circa 1853 at Maine. She was born on 5 February 1863 at Strong, Franklin Co., Maine.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Maddox Ellsworth and Julia Ann Libbey. Etta Julia Ellsworth died on 3 March 1892 at Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine, at age 29.¹ She was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Phillips, Franklin Co., Maine.¹

Eugene “Gene” Ellsworth was a PVT in the US Army during World War II, served with the 720th Military Police Battalion.

Eugene (Gene) Ellsworth, of Tilton formerly of Seabrook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton. He was 96 years old.

Born on September 12, 1927, in Melrose, MA, Gene was the son of the late Lee and Lillian (Weir) Ellsworth. Gene was raised in Melrose and attended Essex Agricultural (Aggie) High School in Danvers, MA. At the age of 18, Gene enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served with the 720th Military Police Battalion in Japan until 1947.

Returning home from the service, Gene purchased his own dairy farm in Salisbury, MA. As his passion for dairy farming grew, he purchased other dairy farms in Somersworth, NH and North Berwick, ME. He worked for nearly 20 years as a dairy farmer. After farming, he sold farm products for IBA Dairy Supplies until his retirement at the age of 62.

Gene enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his late wife, Beatrice. He loved being a dairy farmer and was an avid gardener, who could be found tending to his crops well into his 90s. He enjoyed square dancing, playing bingo and woodworking. He was a talented stain glass artist and made many beautiful creations for his children and grandchildren to cherish.

He was predeceased by his wife of over 20 years, Beatrice (Blocker) Ellsworth and his siblings Evelyn Pilgrim and Earl Ellsworth.

He is survived by his children. Robert and his wife Rosemary Ellsworth of Seabrook, NH, Cynthia and her husband Joe Landers of North Hampton and Cheryl Fairbanks of Exeter, NH. His step children Patti and her husband Scott Bailey of Bow, NH and Carol Stone of Tilton. He is also survived by grandchildren: Beque, Sonia, Nathaniel, Robert, Steven, Jessica, Jaime and Christy as well as 8 great-grandchildren.

Miriam Octavia Ellsworth married David M. Blanchard in 1890. Miriam Octavia Ellsworth died on 7 February 1958 at Riverside Co., California, at age 93.      Richard Maddox Ellsworth was born on 24 October 1828 at Strong, Franklin Co., Maine.¹ He was the son of Thomas Ellsworth and Miriam Maddocks. Richard Maddox Ellsworth married Julia Ann Libbey on 7 March 1850. Another old settler gone. Death of Mrs. T.F. Perkins, in her Seventy-second year. Mrs. Theresa Perkins, wife of T.F. Perkins, died at their home in Featherstone, Monday afternoon, October 31st, at four o'clock and twenty minutes, aged seventy-two years, two months and seventeen days. The disease was heart trouble and she passed away as quietly and gently as falleth to sleep the innocent babe on its mother's breast.
Miss Theresa Ellsworth was born in Franklin county, Maine, August 14th, 1809, and was married to T.F. Perkins, who was born in the same county, December 30, 1804, on September 20th, 1829, and they moved to this county in 1861; their married life having stretched over more than half a century. Besides her husband, she leaves five children, men and women well known and highly respected throughout this county, Jonathan R., Charles E., Timothy E., Hartson E. and Abbie S., (Mrs. Merritt Trippe) to cherish her fond memory. Though dead she still lives in the future of her children and grandchildren, and let no one say that such a life as hers, full of widely and motherly cares and joys, has been unworthy or wanting in the humble grandeur of success.
The mother in her struggles and victories, wielding her scepter of her children's loves, is the most honored of mortals. The poet hath well said, "The mother, in her office, holds the key of the soul; and she it is who stamps the coin Of character, and makes the being who would be a savage, But for her gentle cares, a Christian man; Then crown her queen of the world."

The funeral of Mrs. T.F. Perkins, whose death we noticed at length in The Advance last week, took place at Featherstone a week ago Friday. All the children and a number of her grand-children, were present. Mr. J.R. Perkins came down from Morris, and C.E. Perkins from Warren, Ill., to attend the funeral. The cause of death was heart disease. The deceased was seventy-two years of age and had lived in this county since 1862.

Mrs. Vilette Ellsworth Perkins, 92, beloved pioneer woman of this community and mother of M.T. Perkins of Red Wing, died at the home of her grandson, Richard Jones, in Minneapolis at 11 a.m. Sunday. Death was due to infirmities of old age. Mrs. Perkins had been confined to her bed for the past six weeks.
Mrs. Perkins was born on Oct. 10, 1841, at Phillips, Me. She came west in 1860 and settled on a farm in Featherstone township and resided there until about 40 years ago, when she removed to Red Wing, which remained here home until last March when she went to Minneapolis to live with her grandson.
In 1859 she was united in marriage to Hartson E. Perkins, who died on July 19, 1899. Mrs. Perkins was a kindly Christian woman, who was highly respected by all who knew her. She possessed her faculties to an unusual degree for one of her age up to the time of her death.
Surviving are three sons, Dr. B.T. Perkins and Dr. E.A. Perkins, Houston, Texas, 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Betcher Memorial chapel at Oakwood cemetery, Rev. Everett Hall, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery.

The cause of death was consumption. William Ellsworth died on 6 May 1870 at Salem, Franklin Co., Maine, at age 72.² He was buried at Mount Abram Cemetery, Salem, Franklin Co., Maine.²

     Elia Timof Elphand was born on 22 June 1894 at Maikop, Adygea, Russia. He married Electa Havel, daughter of Joseph Havel and Mary Sklenar, on 23 October 1935 at Manhattan, New York Co., New York; Certificate Number:     26458. Elia Timof Elphand died on 18 March 1983 at San Mateo, San Mateo Co., California, at age 88.
